HikingGreat!IcyMuddy

The first half was beautiful with dirt/little mud. The second half was very slick; we would have put spikes on if we had them. Creek crossings were a little tricky. Sometimes the rocks were ice coated and very slippery, sometimes they were just wet and we could use them as stepping stones. Bring a walking stick/poles to make the crossings easier!

The trail was great. Dog friendly. It was snowy & beautiful. There were some parts that were really icy. The many river crossings kept us on our toes (so to speak). But it was all worth the sights.

WalkingFeeGreat!Icy

This trail is beautiful! We walked 3.2 miles then back. However, it was very slippery in some areas. Very hard to walk on. My friend and I fell a few times. One of those times I fell it was pretty hard. Luckily I had my backpack on pretty packed and it totally saved me from hurting my back. My knee however twisted and is sore but I’m ok... I would totally do it again but I’d buy snow spikes got my shoes... Just be very careful if there’s snow while hiking. You’ll absolutely love it!

One of my favorite hikes. The terrain is a bit different than all the other popular Sedona hikes which made it interesting. You get to cross the creek at multiple points which was fun. Make sure to have proper hiking shoes as 70% of the trail was snow/ice. Don’t need micro spikes but poles might be helpful.

Hiking

Have to say it’s a great hike. Started early and it was below freezing in February but we planned with warm clothes and it was more than worth it. The Sedona view point is the place to go. If you go further it is quite a bit more for North mountain lookout other side of Sedona. Compared to the Sedona viewpoint it was good but not worth the extra mileage vs. Sedona viewpoint. We ran into mud areas on the way back down. Great hike that I would rate on the lower hard scale and has rocky trail some snow with mud in small areas. The view of Sedona is worth it all. Last thing it was very windy getting close to noon along the first step Mt. Wilson area so be prepared for some wind.

The most stunning canyon hike in Sedona. Lush foliage, incredible rocks, and even some water to play around in. Get there early for a parking spot though.

nice hike, a total of 26 river crossing there and back, went yesterday and it was about 90% covered in snow, but packed down and easy with just hiking shoes, no spikes or water shoes needed. The river crossings were fun to navigate, some were a little slippery but doable
