Crowded on the main trail, but the primitive trail was empty.

Rock climbingGreat!

Amazing trail with some rock scrambling and climbing on rock fins. This trail has diverse landscapes ranging from gravel to sandy deserts to rocky paths with steep drop offs. The primitive trail can be tricky, but following the footprints and stacked stone markers helped a lot! Highly recommend this hike!

Great views for a short walk. The elephant is on the left on the trail. You can't see it from the road or lot.

SOOO good. Little big of climbing. Started at 10:00am and finished at 2:30pm. Bring lots of water and snacks! Trail was fairly crowded today. Not as “primitive” as I was thinking. Make sure to see Private, Navajo, Partition, Double O and Landscape Arch as well as Dark Angel. Shoes with grip are needed to climb some of the rocks. I took a right at the fork for the start of the trail, but going left at the sign is really cool too!

Definitely uphill but a great view. The narrow part wasn’t as bad as I feared.

So good. We went late afternoon during commencement week at. BYU and it was not too crowded. A life list item checked for me. Trail markers, the map, and other hikers were helpful on the primitive section.

Great hike. Easy to get lost on the primitive portion. One large deep puddle you have to scramble around.

This was really quiet once you get past Broken Arch. Tapestry Arch is not really advertised so it is really peaceful. Follow the cairns.

HikingGreat!

Awesome hike and amazing, amazing views. The kind of views that you can’t explain or justify with any number of photos- you just have to see for yourself! Don’t underestimate the intensity of this trail past the Landscape Arch. Lots of scrambling, but very much worth it. I hiked from Sand Dunes Arch trail head (because I didn’t get there early enough for a parking spot at the trail head) and did the whole loop- starting off going the direction of the Primitive trail. Stepped off from Sand Dunes trail head at about 10:30 am. Completed the loop at Devils Garden trail head at 6:00-ish pm. Got back to my car at the Sand Dunes trail head by 7 pm. Long day, worth it! Stopped to chat with some really awesome people for a bit and I also stopped every 60 seconds to take pictures :-) Best to get there and start early if you want a parking spot and want to do the full loop.

Awesome trail if you are prepared. Bring Plenty of water and wear the right shoes. Trails can be confusing got off trail a couple times. Go counter clockwise if your not an avid hiker. Not really for the faint hearted.

Beautiful views and arches! I agree with the comment about many ignorant tourists on the trails. One guy was smoking and a bunch of teenagers were making sexual comments at one of the arches. There were less people once you went up toward double O arch and it was more enjoyable.

What a diverse, challenging and beautiful trail. This is a hike you dream about. There are great views, some very challenging terrain and some spots where you may actually have to scramble on your hands and knees. No joke. But if you're up to it - both physically and mentally - it is well worth it. I do recommend taking the out and back trails to each of the arches and dark angel. We clocked at 8.7 miles as opposed to the 7.8 advertised. Could just be because we got confused a few times and off-roaded, but be aware that you're likely looking at a bit longer of a hike than you may realize at the beginning.

So many arches, giant pillars and other things to be amazed at! The hike is also very fun as you go over these crazy big old rock formations. As any other hike in this area, the earlier in the day the better (to avoid crowds and heat)

HikingGreat!

It’s a 7 mile loop trail. The primitive trail is mostly sand and has a pretty high ledge that you need to climb up. For experienced hikers that are not afraid of heights, you will be ok. For people that are scared of heights, can get vertigo, I would not recommend as this loop requires some scrambling and climbing on rocks. Though the rocks have good grip, make sure to wear proper hiking shoes for the hike. Other than that, the hike itself is beautiful, with lots of arches on the way. The trail is pretty packed and full of people, so I recommend you go early, before 8 am. Carry about 1.5 L for the hike as it can get hot.

wow what a trail! some spots were tricky to get down (slickrock) so of course wear grippy shoes meant for this. Lots of fun climbing all the rocks and fins, great views on the trail, download the trail map. we went clockwise which we preferred to climb the steep rock past landscape arch instead of slide down it and it saved the treacherous sand section for the end.
