Loved this hike! We started clockwise and only went off trail once but got back on pretty easily thanks to this trail map. I didn’t make it past double o due to time constraints so I can’t speak for the primitive trail portion. The west side of the loop is still fairly primitive using heavily trodden rocks or the occasional cairn to ensure you’re going the right way. Heads up though, don’t go on a windy day, it’s very sandy and the rock fins can be quite narrow.

Relatively easy trail. Some steep slopes to clamber up and narrow ledges at times. The arch itself was very crowded so expect to wait if you want pictures with it.

Amazing arch!! The hike up to the arch is a really good incline so be prepared for that. We went and somehow hardly anyone else was there, which was amazing so we got some great photos. Definitely a must have for your first time to Arches. Right before you get to Delicate arch, there’s a tiny arch up the canyon wall. If you climb up you get a super neat view of delicate arch.

WalkingGreat!

Fun trail! Took the primitive route which was the best way to see front and back of both arches. Breathtaking and way less people that way. Overall a super easy trail that anyone can do. Love seeing so many arches in one area.

HikingGreat!

We (my wife, 11 yo daughter, and 6 yo daughter) took the primitive trail backwards headed out to Double O Arch. The main trail was packed. The primitive trail was awesome. We didn’t get on the trail until late due to the congestion at the gate and the drive from SLC. I think we set off at the trail head around 1430 or so, which was too late. We did end up in the dark trying to come down from double o with only a cell phone light and a small flashlight. I did get a little turned around in the dark trying to navigate a trail I had never done in the dark, which is why it took us so long. And of course picture taking added to our timeline.

We did this hike with our 3 children. Ages 14/9/3 and they did very well. Our 3 year old did about half on her own and the other half was carried by dad. Once we made it to the arch it was definitely worth it.

It’s such an awesome trail, there are just so so many people especially on a Saturday. Hiked it out and back with some pictures in an 1 hour 20 minutes.

Beautiful and like no other. A rock climbers dream if you want to go off trail. The earlier you go the better. The park gets full even in the off season. Definitely worth visiting though.

HikingGreat!

If you are an actual hiker with proper shoes and awareness, this is the best and really only true “hike” in Arches. If you are deathly afraid of heights, there are a few places where you are walking on an elevated fin (mounded tube of rock). Awesome hike with great views and 7 arches along the way. Plenty of room to pass each other without freaking out about masks. Would not recommend the loop, just go back the same way. Download the trail map, and keep aware of where the trail actually goes, or you will end up backtracking to rejoin the trail. No snow, no ice on March 3.
