Great hike. Probably my favorite day hike in SD county. The water falls were eally flowing today. It's a great winter hike, very exposed and bring lots of water. I recommend good hiking shoes because it gets very slippery at the falls. We saw lots of people falling in trainers.

Great easy/moderate. With the new path the hike isn't as hard as it used to be but still remember that there is hardly any shade. Make sure to take lots of water and don't hike it in the middle of the day!
The parking lot is also closed due to the government shutdown.

Great easy trail

Amazing, luckily I was there while the park is closed so not many people there. :)

Went up there today Jan. 19th. Road is closed due to snow. Also, make sure you don’t park on the side of the road because there were sheriffs out giving tickets and towing cars.

Love this hike!! Beautiful views of the mountains & lots of shade on the lower canyons. If u go in the fall the colors are amazing ❤️

Parking lot was closed probably due to washout

relaxing and fun trail.

It was a pretty walk along a creek. I wish it was a little better marked as we hit a few forks in the trail and I didn’t know which way to go or how much farther. I wish we would have hiked on higher grounds with views.

Very nice hike enjoyed the water pools didn’t get to see any waterfalls but well worth the hike.

Cool trail. Creek crossing is easy. Wildlife all along the trail.

The new bottom half trail is much easier to follow and it really helps preserve the habitat on the bottom part of the falls. The new trail takes you directly to the second of the 3 falls. There is plenty of water running from the top of the falls. The weather was perfect for this great hike.

Definately a place to check off the list & a unique site as the 2nd tallest waterfall in the NF, but go with expectations. This is NOT a hiker's hike. You will encounter grafitti, trash, sewage, loud human noises, partiers & the trail inexperienced (read: don't know trail ettiquette). While it's rated moderate for the rocks & a short hill, it's fairly easy. Kids & small dogs could make it.

I took the Eagle Peak Trail with my 11 yr old son this weekend. Great hike, views on the peak were more than worth the hike out. planning on falls trail after coming rains. Well worth the drive out.

Unas vistas hermosas el sendero súper bien. Agua corriendo de las cascadas ,solo si es recomendable llevar zapatos de montaña.
El camino para llegar mucha curva pero vale la pena súper recomendable el lugar.

We couldn’t get to the parking lot because the area was blocked off, so we parked in the residential neighborhood 3 miles below the trailhead and hiked up. Sturtevant falls was beautiful! It’s only about 2 miles from the trailhead. Would be great to visit in spring after it’s rained a little bit. We combined this hike with a visit to Hermit Falls (which was another 1.5 miles or so from the trailhead). Total round trip was about 13 miles. Nice and shady hike at this time of year, but be careful when visiting the falls because the rocks are slippery.

Hike was great but the road getting there was nerve-wracking! One lane, blind turns on steep cliffs with no guard rails, gravel roads for the last couple miles, through water. Wasn't sure we were going the right way but google maps worked. Bring a four wheel if you have one and get ready for white knuckles on the Russian Roulette road but maybe I"m the only one who felt that way. So glad we made it back. Hike had amazing scenic views!

Hiked the day after a big rain so the trails were suuuuper muddy and slippery. Water was also a little too high so tough to get into the cave. Would recommend it for a dry day though! Very quiet tail on January Thursday.

I did this hike before the fires and really loved it

Beautiful.. now one of my favorite hikes! Great variety of views and inclines. Love the stream passing through and the views at the top right before you head down to the falls. We started early to avoid crowds and boy it was worth it, we had the falls to ourselves for a good 20-25 min!Took about 2.5 round trip. Highly recommend this hike!

I am in my mid 60’s with bad knees. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the hike . We had to cross the creek 18 times in each direction. There was a nice bit of rock scrambling as we crossed the creek and climbed the canyon. The weather in January was fabulous for this hike.

Nothing to write home about but nice for an afternoon

very flat easy walk. love this trail to relax and kill time. very well maintained

Went here Sunday 1/6/2019 for the first time. Pretty easy getting to the falls and a bit winded coming back due to incline. Not hard though. It was so gorgeous and zero people until coming back. Waterfalls were running, I'm curious to see them during Springtime. I was able to see where the other trail was and it definitely would have made for a more difficult trek, this 'new' path was nice. Great views and lovely weather once the sun came out.
One thing that I must add that was a bummer was the amount of trash at the trailhead. There's plenty of trashcans but the wind probably blows it out or animals rummaging. Cans could probably use lids.

I just did this hike. it's much easier on the new trail. I jogged part if the way down and it only took 28 mins. the way back up took me about 38 mins. the falls were flowing pretty good.
Note - you no longer have to buy the Cleveland forest adventure pass to go to this hike.

Winter/spring is definitely the time to check this one off your list. Beautiful hike, falls were running, not many people out, perfect weather. You are completely exposed during the whole hike, so make sure you are prepared.

We did see a rescue helicopter fly through the canyon, but it didn’t stop here :).

My favorite trail because of all the trees and waterfalls.

Nice hike. Go in the spring when the falls are running

One of my favorite trails in LA. Has a mix of everything green canopy with shade in areas, stream crossing, some include to pretty views with more a more arid climate and then ends at a small waterfall.
