Love this trail so much. Unfortunate there's so much graffiti. Looking to start a cleanup group to get rid of the graffiti/trash if anyone's interested...

Saw 2 moose on trail on way back down from Blanche at 8:45am. One got a little aggressive and charged a hiker coming up the trail, but did not make contact. Whoa! Heads up!

This hike was pretty underwhelming. People are literally lined up before the bridge taking turns with pictures. Kind of took away from the beauty of it. For those with a fear of heights- the bridge looks scarier than it is. Walk up to it and you’ll see how much space there is to walk on it! Views are pretty! The spot is just too touristy.

Fairly easy hike. Can get slippery at the end but beautiful.. Best in Jan/Feb after a good rain

I just hiked this on 9th December 2018. Lots of spaces in the lot, I arrived at 6:15 am. Beautiful hike! Definitely harder in knee deep snow past the saddle. Micro spikes and trekking poles were very helpful as some parts were ice. Beautiful view! It took about 4.5 hours up! Check out my insta pics of it! ig: @yvonne_rebecca

Beautiful trail and the views are amazing. Challenging at the end towards the view point, have to climb up at times. Bring gloves with grips, hiking shoes and layered clothing. If this trail is your first time, allow yourself enough time to go up and down. Minimum: 6 hours roundtrip. Definitely worth the challenge.

Rated hard but if you’re in shape and have okay balance this shouldn’t be any trouble at all. Be sure to hydrate, take water and good shoes.

long hike but well worth the veiw from the top did it in sept had nice weather

This hike is always my go to. Its quick enough to do before work or before errands and always has beautiful views. I occasionally run this trail too so its good for leisure or for a more intense workout! I never get tired of it and it's good for all hiker levels :)

This hike is definitely worth it. It’s also worth paying the $10 to park. They have excellent, well maintained facilities at the lake, and the trail is also very well maintained. If you are a trail runner this is ideal because the path is relatively smooth and even for the first stretch, then when it gets steep there are rock stairs or rock gardens. There was not one place that was sketchy to navigate.

I’d call this a moderate hike because while somewhat long and a bit a steep at places, you never question your life or abilities. Hard hikes, I think, should have you second-guessing your ability to complete them. This hike never required any thought. It was smooth.

Also, I thought I’d be showing up “late” when I started about 7:45am on Sunday, 12/9. It wasn’t crowded at all and I had long stretches to myself. There were a few groups going up but not too many. And while I didn’t take a picture, there was no line do so. Definitely more people on the way down (coming up), but there were a few large groups. Bottom line, don’t stress if you are not there at sunrise, you can still get some alone time in. And there’s a lot of shade in the morning. It took me about 1:20 to get up and 50 minutes to come down, and I ran part of the way down.

If you need a hike to really kick your ass, try El Cajon Mountain. Even if you don’t go the full 11 miles, it is challenging and up hill both ways!

One of the challenging trails I have hiked. Totally worth it.

The trail is mostly clear with some icy sections towards the top,my regular trail shoes handled it just fine. We took the bar trail back down since the ice was making me nervous. But if you have crampons/yaktrax then no worries. Wasn’t busy on a Sunday afternoon. We took our sweet time and did it 2.5 round trip. Love the views and workout.

This is absolutely one my All Time favorite summits in Utah. I love it because it’s steep and relatively a short 3.3 mile to the top. My personal record to the summit stands at 1 hour 37 min and little under 41 mins to run back down to the trailhead. As of December 8th, I have summited Mt. Olympus 16 times in 2018.

Trail is xtremely well traveled. Rated hard but with the well groomed and placed steps, handholds and rails its overrated. I'd say it's an easy hike with plenty of opportunity to stay safe for fit individuals. Big falls possible if careless or weak. Lower body injuries will require rescue and dehydration is most risky factor. Slippy gravel at times recommended grippy soles.

Ild call this moderate for sure. It’s lots of loose rock, sorta steel, and a bit of both at the end. With the effort though!

Beautiful day, perfect for a winter hike. Plenty of fresh snow, animal tracks, and evergreens. First mile and a half or so is well packed and I did just fine with microspikes, but snowshoes would be better for the rest.

Did this hike for the second time today and it is always fun and a really nice view. The first time we went, it was definitely a lot more difficult since the other trail down was much much steeper, but it is permanently closed now. I assume that was for safety reasons, but now the trail is a lot easier so I was a teensy bit bummed out about that. Not a huge deal though, still a wonderful and beautiful hike!

Hiked 12/8/18 - Conditions were great. a few sections of ice/snow but mostly dry. No traction needed...just expect to be more careful on the small sections that are ice/snow covered. Hiked it with full winter loadout and completed the incline section of the route in 54 minutes. Then we took our time going down the Barr Trail. This is a great workout hike and even better if you add a summit of Rocky Mountain to it!

Awesome!!!! loved it! we hiked from chuckwagon up. Only moderate area is the last 1/4 mile up to the bridge. We would definately do this hike again. Breathtakingly beautiful!

great work out still feeling it. some snow up top also

too many people.

Great hike. Lots of snow. Make sure you at least have micro spikes as the snow turns into ice. We did not come down the DBB as few hikers warned us about it. We came down thru the ice house the same way we went up.

Beautiful
Doable in regular hiking boots
Went on a Sunday at 11am and was moderately traveled
Lots of available parking

Solid workout! I was trying to find out if the trail was okay (not too soggy) after the rains and I can report they are in great shape. There are some loose pebbles, stones, rocks as you come down the trail if you start on trail going clockwise at starting point. All and all? Great workout and nice views. Had a tour of at least 40 people to pass. That was an all time first! Haha! All good tho!

Echo Canyon is a great workout, no question. A little scrambling the last part and of course 'the rails' will test you but they aren't nearly as bad as they are reputed to be. It's a great morning hike late in the season because the last part has a lot of shade. Is it harder than the Cholla trail? Overall in my opinion no. There are some challenging spots but all in all I feel it's slightly easier.

Parking sucks, no question. Best bet is to get a ride to and from unless you want to camp out on McDonald in the wee hours of the morning hoping for a spot.

Challenging trail, but safe. If you are looking for 45 min aerobic workout (on the way up), then this is the right trail for you

Challenging and rewarding all together! Brought 3L of water and did not run out, but it was only 60F out. Gloves helped with the rock scrambles. Follow the dots, arrows and X’s. When in doubt, stay left. It was packed with people, but made for some friendly chats with strangers. Took ~2.5hrs to make the ascent. Bring a snack (and maybe a can of craft beer) for the summit and enjoy the views!!

Stunning formation. Unique, must do hike.
