Nice easy trail - need good crosswalk to connect to Ralph Muro trail

It’s a very nice paved trail. Yes you get road noise from the highway but it didn’t phase us. It can be a loop if you don’t do the full trail and just turn left when you get to the road which was just enough of a walk for my 2 year old. We love that the kids from the elementary school get to plant bulbs and plants on the trail every year too. We’ll definitely be back.

Great short hike with the dogs. gorgeous old growth and vegetat.

Absolutely beautiful!

I came here yesterday with my 8 year old daughter and 11 year old son and we loved it. We actually just began our hiking every weekend family tradition about 3 weeks ago and this is by far my favorite. The start of the trail itself was a little hard to find seeing as you can come into the trail from different points but where all trails shows the starting is located was confusing. Once we parked at the park parking lot and walked on the Main Street we saw the Ellis Cove sign.
The trail itself had about 5 brides and steep stairways so make sure you watch your step! But the views of the lake and the city of Olymipia is beautiful. And they had a few hidden bear sculptures that my kids loved trying to find. I would definitely recommend this trail for anyone.

Very busy walk right in downtown Olympia. It’s good for going on a walk if you don’t want to or don’t have time to get into the woods. It’s a nice and clean trial, with views on Mt. Rainer and the capital building.

Easy walk if you just want to stop for a quick stroll at the end of your day. Beautiful falls and rushing river views for the entire walk, you almost forget you’re in the middle of town.

Stroller friendly for the little ones and provides many opportunities to see wildlife. I come here often and we see many different birds, turtles, salamanders and we try to see the beaver but have no such luck. My family loves this trail because it’s easy and a perfect way to unwind in nature.

This is easily my favorite hike in the Olympia area. It’s short and slightly challenging but easy enough for my kids age 7 and 3 to do it with me. It’s beautiful, heavily forested with a creek, bridges and it leads you out to the rocky bay. I have hiked here in the spring time when little buds are forming on the trees, in the hot summer the trees provide some cool shade and in the fall with the contrasting color of the changing trees with the evergreens.

Beautiful and easy walk.

We love to walk this with the kids, it’s an easy walk. Relaxing, but very busy when it’s nice outside. There are restrooms on both sides of the loop, and a water fountain. The area is flat, with one area off to the side where you can go up an elevated walkway towards the capital. When we walk this, we usually do sprints up this to get our heart rate up.

Easy little walk with my baby in her carrier. There were definitely a lot of people there but it was nice scenery.

Really nice walk with the dog today. We enjoyed the sound of the rain in the trees and watching the mists weaving through. A few walkers only.

What a gorgeous trail tucked away in Olympia! It was lush and rich. The bridges and staircases were visually appealing and we were able to pop down onto the beach for a stroll there before finishing the loop. We loved the carved bears hiding here and there and also the wonderful views of the Capitol building across the water.

Good nature walk for children

Did most of this on a motorcycle run with my son on one of my Goldwings. Went from SF area up to Port Angeles and back down way too many years ago. . Spent a few days in Coos Bay fishing as well. Awesome area and trip.

Awesome place for the kids. Be sure to bring snacks in your bag for them and take your time. Great place for family time.

Nice trail with beautiful photo op.

Trails are not marked very well, the were well maintained a bit muddy in some parts but had a wonderful time. Will definitely recommend to other people.

Initially set out to run this, but the pathway is narrow in many places and it was fairly busy. Beautiful Cove… All of the trees are covered with moss and leaves, making the forest look even more alive. Love the little bears in the trees too… Super cute addition to this Cove.

I left the forest and walked about a half mile on the beach… It is all rocks, no sand but it was still a beautiful scenery.

Really a great park with some beautiful scenery. Perfect day, lightly trafficked but everyone was friendly. The water in the lake filthy I’m not sure if it always does during this time of year but that is the only real negative. I will definitely do this again. As a side trail, I ran up this winding Hill to the police memorial… That added an extra challenge to this trail.

Very easy not for those with a sensitive bladder.no real sign that says trail over here. But tons of photo op gems.

Great trail with amazing fall view. Only 0.5 miles, so it’s a busy trail with lots of people taking this.

Awesome trail for kids and family. Easygoing trail.
