Beautiful hike, a little too much elevation gain for my hiking partner.

Went around 1030am on a Friday and there wasn’t much of a crowd. The trail is well maintained and you can feel the slight incline going up but it’s not overly challenging. Beautiful views at the top and a good spot to take a break with a snack before heading down. Took a little under two and half hours in total.

One of my all time favorite trails. The view is beautiful and I went on a clear day so you could see for miles and miles. We brought lunch to eat once we got up to the top as well.

Nice view along the lake but the view doesn’t change. Easy stroll I could do thru the neighborhood

Loved this hike, would suggest to start really early to avoid the crowds on your way up.

Nice trail, soothing lake views the whole way. would love to do this in summer!

There are two trail heads. The bottom one will give you more miles and it’s worth the climb.

I took my dog hiked all the way to the main lookout yesterday. Started at 11:30 AM and back to the car at 3:30. Gorgeous day shared with quite few people on the main lookout. But I was so disappointed when I got back to the car. My back trunk window was shattered and my purse was stolen out of my car. This happened during daylight! My Orange Subaru Crosstrek was parked just a few cars away from the restaurant Oyster Bar on Chuckanut Drive. This is sucks!! So please don’t leave any valuable in your car. Take it with you!! I learned valuable lesson here. But other than that I still love hiking up to Oyster Dome.

Hiked up about 1.5 hours at a slow pace and did not quite make it to the lake. Trail was in good condition; wet and rainy but no snow or ice. Saw other hikers both solo and in groups. Seems well trafficked for a Thursday and therefore great for the solo hiker! Lots of parking (2:00pm Thursday). Bring Northwest Forest Pass. Bathrooms still closed. Beautiful hike!

we did this hike on New Years Eve and again this past Sunday. One of our favorites for sure. NYE there was allot of snow, obviously fresh and super cold. This past weekend, much of the snow was gone and the lake wasnt as frozen. Two very different hikes and very different views along the way with and without the snow. Cant wait to come back in the summer to camp! Easy in and out very little elevation. Just enough to get your heart rate up a bit and then your there. LOTS of dogs off their leashes would be my only negative comment. We brought 3 dogs both times and kept them leashed for caution both times.

This was my 2nd time coming here. I love it. I hated outmaneuver underneath the fallen logs from the storm not to long ago. If you have bad knees yes this will be awkwardly painful. Other than that at the ledge it was super windy and cold. Took my group of ladies about 3 hours to finish. The sunset was pretty <3

beautiful

Went at 1:15pm. Very crowded in parts of the trail but was able to run some on the way up and down. Beautiful views! Worth every bit of traffic!

Not too strenuous and no views going up. Views at the three ledges aren’t as good as surrounding national parks.

No snow or ice on the path at all. It was a little crowded even though we went up around 9am but the view up there was amazing. When we went down around 1pm the parking lot was packed so I would recommend to go there early.

We hiked on 1/12/19. Clear trail most of the way with slick rocks and compacted snow near the top. We managed with athletic shoes, but more traction is highly recommended. Much colder and windy at the lake, but beautiful. High foot traffic. Bathroom is locked due to the government shutdown...

Beautiful trail, we hiked it on Jan 9. Majority of hike has slushy snow on it - it rained the night before which made some of the spots fairly slick. Decent amount of steps as well as occasional rocks. Microspikes encouraged. Beautiful lake - we had it all to ourselves!

This is my 2nd hike to Rattlesnake Ledge. Beautiful well maintained trail, no ice or sleet. Fairly easy hike to the top for moderate to experienced hikers. I went at 8:30, wasn’t as crowded. The view was amazing! Very windy at the top, but I took a break to eat and the scenery was just wow! Additionally, bathrooms are well maintained and stocked. Unlike many other places that I have hiked to. I will definitely go back again.

Went yesterday with my dad and our dogs. Started our hike at 8:30am. We started the hike from chuckenut on the hwy so it was the 7.9 mile hike compared to 5 miles from the samish outlook. Trail was in pretty good shape.
I’ll say if you start at the hwy and not samish outlook those extra miles are nothing buck switch backs going up. My legs are so sore today.

Great rewards for such a short hike! Only 2 miles to the top, but still a workout. No snow or ice. Trail is in good shape and bathrooms at the trailhead we're clean and stocked! (Always a plus)

Awesome views!

Did this Jan 2, 2019. Beautiful views! I’d say there’s not snow until 2/3 of the way up? Maybe 3/4? Not a lot but enough that micro spikes made life 1000% easier. Would be tricky to do without, especially coming down - the snow is packed down enough on the trail that it’s quite slick and you’d be sliding down. The lake was very pretty and the views were lovely the whole way up. I’d say this is moderately difficult, with the last couple miles to the top being quite steep. It’s also closer to 9 miles according to my Strava recording. Took us about 4 hours to do with a snack break at the top.

Went on 12/3 at 0730. It was a rainy, windy day. There wasn't much to see from the top, but there was only one other person on the trail! The trail is very well maintained, and I could see myself coming back here to relax by the lake in the summer. Just don't follow the Google maps directions and use the AllTrails map to get to the location. All in all, it was a nice, little workout!

Completed this a few months ago. Was great.

An absolutely gorgeous beach with lots of driftwood, rock features and a pebble beach that grades into sand towards the water. Easy access and definitely worth the trip. I visited on December 24th and it was chilly and fairly busy around sunset but what a gorgeous sunset.

Well maintained trail. Stairs at a lot of places add convenience but feel not belonging there. waterfall first. if you feel you have exhausted less than 30% energy, go for the lake. On 1st Jan, the last one mile had snow requiring microspikes. I did without them but had to struggle a lot. Ample parking space and toilets in parking as well as when you reach lake serene. Mesmerizing view of lake serene from lunch point in winter.

Cold but not too packed!

I went at 630 am this morning and the hike up wasn’t highly trafficked but the way down was really busy around 830am. The view was amazing though, especially at sunrise and I would highly recommend. I would give this more of a moderate rating rather than easy. It’s relatively steep on the way up.
