hey just wanted to point out that the turnoff coordinates are incorrect and lead to a private residential area. The turnoff is at 35.828399,-106.595902.

We love this hike!!! Great for kids. :)

This is not a marked trail but more of an open space. There are some signs to the petroglyphs on the way up, but once top of La Bajada it's a beautiful view. You can find your way back down to the parking lot through the horse trails in the canyon.

Trail closed as of 8/10/18 due to heavy rains. check to see if it’s open before going

Easy trail with lots to see where the cave dwellings are. The climb to Alcove House is really worth it if you are in decent shape... and if you don’t mind heights. It can be pretty freaky climbing down those ladders. The ladders are solid, but there’s no room for error.

I have lived in Santa Fe for 8 years and did this hike for the first time recently. Loved this hike and although fairly difficult and pretty steep, the 360 views are gorgeous. Lots of space at the top for a picnic. The trail is relatively exposed so a hat, sunscreen, or sun shirt is wise.

Awesome trail

A hidden gem of Santa Fe. A beautiful forest hike, back and forth over the stream. The falls are hidden back in a canyon and involves some creative rock climbing/jumping. Possibility of getting wet is high. Also there is only parking for 5-7 cars at the trailhead.

If you are going to be in Bandelier, you have to do this trail. The ladders are very secure but be warned, while going up is tiring going down is just as exhaustive!

This is an absolutely fabulous trail! The end gets really steep with a lot of loose gravel and dirty. It can be slipper and difficult for some. My word of advice would be to go as early as possible - they only let a number of people into the park at a time and the canyon can get extremely congested as it can be only a foot or so wide at points

easy and good trail for even first day

The waterfall was beautiful. I couldn’t find away down that was safe for my dog but other than that it was an amazing hike

Super easy. Was beautiful and green on that side of the mountain, just wish it was longer or at least another trail similar close by.

Wasn’t really impressed. Lots of winding trails to choose from. Very open. Pretty views but wouldn’t do again.

So much fun for all ages!

This is a must do hike. Great slot canyon and hike to the peak to over look the tent rock canyon and surrounding vista.

Wonderful short, heavily wooded trail that’s great for kids. There are some sections with a steep drop off next to the trail so we ended up holding the hand of our 4 year old just for added security during these, but overall a beautiful family friendly hike.

There’s free parking on the left right after you turn into the entrance of Blake Canyon camping area. You then need to hike to the back of the camp where the trail starts. It’s probably a 1/4 mile hike to the TH. There aren’t a lot of views through the trees, but the trees themselves are so amazing. If you go right at the trail fork the incline isn’t as steep, but the descent down the left fork can be a bit unnerving.

Amazing! My favorite place in New Maxico. Be sure to arrive earlier, as the staff began to clear the trail before 4pm. I think it's too early. They should give visitors more time to experience this great spot.

So I’m fairly new to hiking/backpacking with only about 100 miles under my feet so far. With that said, however, parts of this trail were pretty hard compared to trails with a “hard” classification. My daughter is very active and even she had a tough time. This trail is BEAUTIFUL and totally worth the sweat and effort despite my previous statement. If, like me, you’re newer to the hobby just be aware that this will be challenging and then GO!!!!

Wasn’t expecting much but it’s actually pretty cool! Little archeology fun.

Great trail! Interesting terrain and history!

My husband and I loved this trail! Beautiful hike, the waterfall was great! We did more trail running on the way back down. The parking was a little challenging but worth it in the end. We will definitely go back!

Very nice easy hike through meadows and Aspen.

Loved the uphill trail! The views were fantastic! Upon arrival 3 gorgeous springs were seen with Crystal clear water and little minnows that nibble at you, it was quite relaxing and a nice place to have lunch and hang a hammock. Further down I wasn't able to locate any additional springs but beautiful small waterfalls here and there.

I can't offer a review but a heads up. they won't let you pass the gate after 300 330. Shorthanded and closing early

Lots of petroglyphs and wildlife - jackrabbits, hummingbirds, glowers & assorted plant life. Easy walk.

We loved this hike and did both the slot canyon trail and the cave trail. We arrived just after 8 a.m. on a Friday and had no trouble parking. There weren't many people on the hike up, and it was easy navigating the narrow passages. Quite a bit of scrambling up rocks for the last 15 minutes or so, which definitely required some effort. Slippery going down that same section. Beautiful scenery throughout the hike and at the top. $5 cash to enter. Portable toilets on site. Take water and snacks. Total time was about 2.5 hours for both trails. So glad we went early!

From the tight canyons to the top. Some tough spots. As everyone says “go early”.

Beautifully interesting scenery along the way made this hike amazing. We did it in October and the skies were gorgeous blue and the weather was warm, not hot or humid. Would definitely do this hike again. We got great photos along the way!
