4/12 Went out on a bluebird day and it was just gorgeous. The trail is still covered in snow, and by the time we returned in the late afternoon the snow was pretty soft and we started postholing quite a bit. Will definitely do this hike again once the snow is melted and the lake is open!

i love this glacier super easy and doable for any person.. trail is pretty visible you just have to go over two hills and boom you are there.

Great easy hike, fun and enjoyable. Ice cave are beautiful, make sure before you go out you check the avalanche risk for the time.

Beautiful hike with great views of suicide peaks! I see people mountain biking this trail alot also.

Good hike but not sure where ice caves were. Climbed big boulders then came back. Later found out ice caves were further past boulders on right. Need to go back now.

I’ve done this trail a few times growing up, it’s always beautiful. I would say it’s not even moderate, it’s well groomed and pretty easy hike. The falls at the end are worth it, and there’s a few side paths you can take if you find them.

Visited in May, no salmon yet. Still beautiful terrain. Wide path, easy. Spotted a porcupine, no bears, though many people do see bears!

Nice short hike. Had to climb over a lot of boulders for the last 500 yards or so to get to the bottom of the glacier, but the ice caves were amazing!!!

Awesome!! Ice caves were beautiful !!!!! Take head lamps to really explore the caves!! Going back!!

Beautiful scenery. What a quick easy hike to do when you are in the area. We were able to walk right up to the glacier since everything was frozen.

Perfect time of year to explore the ice caves. The river is mostly frozen and the caves appear stable as evidenced by lack of ice fall. Recommend quality ice grippers and poles. The valley is in shade all day and it can be windy. The Begich-Boggs visitor center is closed for the season.

Nice super easy hike to a glacier. Not the most stunning but clearly the most accessible

Great hike, even though it was raining when I did it. It was near dusk so I didn't complete the whole thing, but I'd highly recommend it to families, kids, and those who want an easy hike. Wide trail, easy to follow, plenty of trees/shade. Always bring bear spray, I smelled them at one point. It's hard to mistake their smell!

Super easy trail. Lots of people and dogs out today. Nice section of ice just to the left of where the maintained trail ended that required a calf-high water crossing.

Very easy with a big glacier reward at the end!

Beautiful day! 8/27/17 Didn’t stay at the lake long as it was very windy.

Nice, short, scenic trail. The glacier is much smaller than pictured here. It was also very rainy in the partage glacier area, so come prepaired with raingear and good shoes!

Hiked this trail 9/20/17, beautiful fall day with the colors on display. Easy elevation change with some short moderate climbs. Beautiful lake at the end with plenty of room to spread out around. Had the trail going out and the lake to myself, only saw people coming up the trail as I was leaving. Awesome hike close to town!

Think of this trail as being senior day at the grocery store. It is a well maintained and wide trail. Hell, you could bring a wheelchair down it. It is fun to watch the fish jump though.

I did this for the first time yesterday! Not very challenging, but it was gorgeous and a ton of fun! I would definitely do it again!

This is a quick hike to the edge of Byron Glacier. Great views!! We had good weather. Probably not a great hike in inclement weather. Rocky towards the end so good shoes are a must. Suitable for just about every skill level.

Beautiful day and beautiful hike!!!! Loved this trail! Not use to hiking an easy trail with magnificent views and zero elevation. Fall colors a plus!!

Awesome walk. Super easy trail yet the distance can be kinda deceiving. Don't let the length worry you, it goes by fairly quick. Don't forget a gun or bear spray though. It is pretty common to see bears on the hike. Definitely recommend if you are a fan of cool waterfalls!

Great hike, awful weather. In town it was slightly overcast with light winds. On the trail it was extremely windy, cold, and blowing rain. Some termination dust on the mountaintops by the end of the day. Whitecaps on the lake.

Took the kids to the hand tram. Great easy hike.

Great trail even in the rain it was a beautiful hike.

easy stroll.

Went with a friend and made plans to come back again when it's nicer

I'm 56. Great family trail. I would rate it easy not moderate.
