Beautiful, challenging, rewarding hike with amazing views. Be sure to go beyond the shelter for great views of the ice field.

I do not recommand during winter. Especially on rainny days like today. The trail was not groomed and we couldn’t find our way. We turned back because of the rain, and to difficult to find through the snow. Maybe easierif you have snowshoes! The road stopped before the entrance of the trail.

Seems like a lot of potential in this trail, but not during inclement weather. Had to turn back because most of the trail is very exposed and the wind was brutal. Will try again another time. $5 parking FYI.

Great go to hike if you need a quick/short hike workout.

November 14th, snowy but so fun! Beautiful sunny day out and easy loop!

Moderate is appropriate. It is challenging towards the top, but I carry an extra 40 lb with the baby carrier. Beautiful views.

Trail is in great shape. Beautiful hike. Travel wisely, thick bear country. I like to hike this after the leaves have fallen.

Trail-head parking was easy to find, and pretty empty before sunrise. Trail is pretty easy to follow and clearly marked at a few trail intersections, until you come to the moraine field towards the end. There are cairns throughout the boulder field, but its easy to get turned around. When in doubt, keep to the left side of the boulder field and keep your eyes pealed for the cairns. The little hut at the end can provide some cover for extremely windy days. No animal sightings :(. Great hike!

Amazing like always

nice hike close to town. beautiful views.

Niiiiiicceeee

Beautiful hike.

Quick beautiful hike. Definitely check the weather before you go because doing this trail after/during rainfall would make it a lot more dangerous. I would also consider it to be more moderate than easy. A little strenuous at times, but so worth it when you make it to the top.

Well worth the effort. Camped at the top. Bring at least 3 liters of water if you're doing the whole trail, especially if the sun is out. There are many streams if you have a filter.

awesome trail! the peak of the trail has an awesome look out! did the trail in October, and it was a little chilly at the top but just plan accordingly for the weather.

Just did O’Malley today! Took 3.5 hours roundtrip, however my friend and I ran up to the ascent before little Omalley, then the ball fields, and then down the scree coming back. Every opportunity we could. It’s an incredible hike but does require some confidence when heading up the gulley of big Omalley. We took the goat paths whenever we could find them but it was not technical at all. The view from the top, on a bluebird day, is incredible and well worth the trek! Saw about 4 bull moose and a cow coming back. Pretty highly trafficked, but not too many people once you leave the ball fields and start heading up big Omalley. Totally doable hike!

beautiful drive with many hikes ranging from easy to difficult. even if you do not hike, this is one of the most beautiful drives!

The last 200 feet is very difficult. I got to see some moose on a side trail and the view was outstanding. It was a heavily trafficked trail, but I knew that going in, from the other reviews. I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a challenge.

Beautiful hike with lots of beautiful scenery

Beautiful scenery & very well maintained trail! Easy hike. Take your kids they should be able to complete it. However be careful. We Crossed paths with a hungry bear (just a black bear which poses little threat to humans) eating salmon in the river the trail runs through.

Good views like every other mountain in the state, this app labels it as hard but it’s definitely not. It should be rated as moderate.

Gruelling hike up and down but well worth every bit of the effort. one of the most amazing and rewarding views in my 66 years on the planet

One of the most beautiful hike in Kenai Pensilvania.

Beautiful hike in the Fall! Great trail that takes you by lakes, a stream a boulder field at the end. Well maintained and traveled.

Such an awesome and beautiful hike. After a few rest stops, some pickings of blueberries and crowberries on the backside of Baldy and a fair amount of peaceful time at the top, it took me about 4 hours (starting at the bottom of Baldy). Can’t wait to return with a drone.

This peak took us almost 4hrs to reach the top, taking our time in some places due to the loose ground and a few steep areas that are probably out of most people’s comfort zone, but if you don’t mind heights, the view is unbelievable!

Dang my feet hurt! And my knees! Good thing this was a pretty hike! Saw like 8 marmots!! And the icefield, which was pretty cool too. Sept 11, 2018. 7.5 hr RT.

Walked through a green tunnel of brush for half an hour then got to the rocky stream bed. Had to cross over the glacially cold stream to go look at the snow caves, which were pretty neat! Sept 9, 2018.

All the stairs got me a little winded. After that though, it's like a choose your own adventure, scrambling up all the rock. Definitely flat at the top, hence the name. Went on a beautiful bluebird day and got views of everything from Iliamna to Denali. (of course, you can get that from the parking lot too... :P) Sept 8, 2018. Took me about an hour and a half to get from parking lot to the top, including breaks.

It was a fun scramble at the top but too many people. 1 hour and 15 minutes total up and back.
