I absolutely loved this trail. It’s definitely not an easy hike as you gain over 1,000ft in elevation each mile but it is so worth the effort. You will hike beside a river speckled with waterfalls, through aspen groves, and into gorgeous meadows.
My GPS tracker a little over 6.5 miles rt but I did some exploring at the top.
Keep your eye out for moose. I saw a few as well as a few groups of deer.
I got on the trail by 7am and had zero issues with sun or temperature as more than the majority of the hike was covered by shade. I hiked on a Tuesday and only saw one other hiker on the trail. Had the final meadow to myself for over an hour. Complete solitude.
I can’t wait to come back in the fall when the aspens are changing.

great for the dogs. Best to do in the morning or evening because it is very exposed.

Great trail, waterfalls and amazing views!

great hike with a great view of the valley.

Gets your calves burning. Great for dog, please don’t bring your non-dog friendly dogs though and let them off leash. Please just be considerate of people with dogs on leash just trying to get one with nature.

Grandkids loved the hike, ages 2-14. Not too bad until the last ¼ mile, it was steep, rocky, switchbacks. Parking was tough on a Friday morning. Beautiful views. While the wildflowers are almost gone, there was still a few to enjoy. Trail is very dusty. We plan on doing this again next year closer to Mid-July.

We started early in the morning and was a great start to our day! Great view of city. The smoky haze made the Great Salt Lake barely visible. The couch was comfy ;o)

Awesome little hike to a beautiful alpine lake!

Busy, fairly steep in places. Beautifull hike.

Lake is muddy green brown and there are few flowers. Not worth the $6 to get in here.

Was surprised my 3 year old made it to the top. Pretty easy until the last 25% where it gets a bit steep, narrow and scrambled for very young kids. The lake up top reminded me a little of String Lake at the Grand Tetons. Salamanders and chipmunks were another reward.

This is an amazing trail. It’s pretty steep but the views when you reach the top are amazing!!!

Absolutely beautiful!

Beautiful trail for a rookie. Great views and the lake at the end makes to journey worthwhile.

Pretty.

Be aware: Alta is charging $6 per vehicle to use the road to get to the trail.

Just a mile from my hotel, I decided to go and try this hike. Not easy but not impossible! The trail was in good condition and the views from the top are worth the effort! Can’t wait to do this again.

Maybe it’s because I just got home from hiking in the Redwoods but I thought it was an alright hike. Many will disagree, I’m sure. Beautiful view from the top. Really crowded during sunset on a Friday night. No trail signs along the way so it was a bit confusing.

Beautiful lookout.

so beautiful! great work out

Beautiful hike. Should not be rated as easy. Very steep incline to get to the lake, but it’s worth it.

It was a fun family hour and half. My kids liked it.

Great trail that gets narrow at some parts. Nice views of the city at the top.

45 min to the top, we set out around 6:30pm so plenty of shady spots on the trail. Nice view of the city.

Fantastic 3.5 mile round trip hike, super clear water with great views.

was good

Our family loves Lisa Falls, but it is very disappointing that people have tagged the rocks. Very disgraceful!

Nice little hike for late July. Went right in the middle of the day (3pm) with 99 degree temps but wasn’t over exhausted and got a great workout in.

No one at the top and we spent 20 min there. Only saw a few people on the way down.

Great views of the city!

Best view of SLC you will find.

I used to love this hike until it grew in popularity. The ski lifts bringing people practically right to it have ruined it for me. We picked up so much trash. If used to be our tradition to go once a year as it was my little ones first hike, but the traffic jams on the switch backs and the phones ringing while at the lake took away from the peaceful feeling I seek when going to the mountains.
Pick up your trash everyone!
