Incredible hike! Summit is stunning. Fairly steep incline on the way up but manageable. Snowshoes were necessary.

Trail is packed due to all the previous hikers, easy to follow. Today was a clear blue sky day what a view. Crampons are a must. Climbing up the last part of the rock peak I didnt encounter any ice. I'm starting to love winter hiking. The mountains provide a whole new look to the beautiful Adirondack mountains.
Ice on the way up, lots of soft snow at the top, not great visibility but still awesome hike
Loved this hike! When I went on Jan 1, I used YakTraks rather than microspikes and was able to get by with minimal slipping as there was always a light layer of snow to prevent slipping on slick ice, though not sure if that will always be the case in the winter, so bring microspikes if you have them.
It was a great hike. Spectacular views. Very icy most of the way so micro spikes were a necessity. Rock face was only last quarter mile and was mostly bare.
One of the most beautiful views I have ever seen. It was almost a six mile hike for us. Definitely recommend micro spikes, steep, rocky, and very icy at times but totally worth it to get to the summit.
Cold but beautiful
if your looking to get to the peak you'll need micro spikes as about 1.5 miles in the path is very icy. The peak itself is a site to behold, and it is also very windy making the temperature freezing. Definitely worth it.
My first high peak hike. So cool how the higher up we got, the trees got snowy and icy. This hike wasn’t necessarily hard, but it’s a steady uphill trek made more difficult by ice. We needed our spikes as we got higher. Unfortunately clouds blew in right as we reached the VERY cold summit. So no view up high and the wind was pretty crazy for not being used to it! We ended up getting the best view as we trekked back down out of the wind. I imagine this hike is much more crowded during the summer but was a lot of fun to do with the ice. Would try this again and hope for a better view at the top.
