#52hikechallenge Map

Beautiful. You need a 4x4 to get to the devil’s bridge trailhead. The road is super rocky and unpaved—I do not recommend you try it. Instead, drive to the trailhead devils bridge trailhead as far as you can go. I put it into my GPS. you will see when the road becomes unpaved. Stop there and immediately to your left you’ll see a parking lot. Park there. Do the Chuck Wagon trail (marked as 3-strenuous on the trail map). Note it is NOT strenuous. I would classify it as easy. And the hike was gorgeous with beautiful views. Once you get to devil’s bridge trail, the views aren’t great until you get to the end. devil’s bridge trail is moderate, and the rock scramble to the top is moderate to strenuous. It took us 2.5 hours round trip including stopping for pix at the top. I note that to get back to the car, we did the route listed in this review— going along route 1–easy on the Jeep path. It was dusty and had jeeps on it and no views. So no views until you get onto devil’s bridge path. We saw a lot of people walking along it instead of taking chuck wagon. I totally recommend taking chuck wagon instead of the Jeep path!!! That was the best part of the hike. I recommend this hike. Not my favorite but fun and not too long.

Went here for my first hike of the day and it didn't disappoint me. Awesome view of the canyon.

Sunrise was awesome from up there! We rock scrambled to get to sunrise on time but then walked the trail back. This is an easier hike for the area though still more technical than some should do.

This was a much easier hike than expected. The last quarter mile is the only section that could be considered moderate. The views throughout the hike are outstanding in the typical Sedona manner. The bridge itself is a fascinating sight, especially when viewed from the top staging area adjacent to the arch formation. There are much better hikes in Sedona, but this one is worth doing just to see the bridge. Try to go during a time when the crowds will be less, as there is little room at the bridge area and the final ascent is a very narrow trail.

Loved it

A nice hike but was quite crowded.

Fun trail, pretty cruiser - only two or three moderately strenuous sections. I'd say its borderline "Easy". We hiked during some rainy/snowy conditions which made it a bit more exciting. The bridge is pretty cool, not quite as tall or narrow as it may seem in pictures. Definitely a fun trail that the whole family can make it up, and provides beautiful views for sure, but if you're more experienced and looking for more of a challenge this might not do it for you.

Fantastic. I am in decently good shape and it was moderate to hard. It’s all uphill and a lot of rock scrambling. But views along the way and at the end are stunning. Took us 25 mins from the cathedral Rock trailhead to get to the top. Then it’ll be another 25 to get down. Everyone said to get here early because the trail is crowded and the two parking lots get full. So we got here at 8am in high season on a Thursday. The first lot was full but second lot was mostly empty. This was the perfect time to go because the trail wasn’t crowded at all and we had space to get up and enjoy the view and the weather was perfect (58 degrees). Definitely worth it!

Nice paved trail. A little steep, so flip flops not recommended going back down. Benches all along the way to rest of enjoy the view.

Beautiful hike down through some incredible formations that include a couple of natural bridges. Some muddy sections this time of year.

Definitely a challenge. I have a major fear of heights and I decided to just do it. (Nike would be proud y’all). Had second thoughts halfway into it but it’s like a roller coaster: you really can’t go back. Crowds tend to keep you moving forward and it’s challenging on the chains. The views, however, were so so worth it.

Moral of the story: WORTH IT. Brave your fear of heights but also be careful.

Perfect weather. Crossings can be a little tricky at times but not that difficult if you take your time. Water level was low so they were a little easier. Would recommend.

Very short hike but awesome views. If your in the area you can do this and Horseshoe Bend in one day. Both are pretty amazing.

hard but worth while!

Beautiful, as expected it was pretty crowded. If you wait out a few mins between groups it is a pretty good climb without dealing with back and forth traffic on the narrow path given. Definitely, invest in hiking shoes for this hike. A lot of crazy college kids who would jump and run the hike. Patience is key to enjoy the beautiful view at the top!!!

Love the trail and the view at the top.

pretty good, depending on where you park a good portion of the hike is like a fire road and kinda uninteresting. the views aren't as good as other hikes in the area but the photos on the bridge are cool. get there early, we finished around 8:15 and the parking lot was already starting to overflow.

great little hike with a cool view. at the top go to the left and up another rock scramble to find a more secluded area. get there early because it is going to be busy.

This is a fantastic hike. You get to see so many sites with a limited number of miles. I enjoy being down among the hoodoos and seeing them stand over you provides a different perspective than when you are on the rim. This is a must do hike for any hikers visiting Bryce Canyon.

Wonderful trail to get up close and personal with the Hoo Doos. We added Peek-a-Boo loop. There was a bit of residual ice, snow, and red muddy slush on the trail, but traction was ok in hiking boots. Views were astonishing. We saw a herd of 15 deer at the bottom.A steep climb out, but worth it.

The views throughout the entire trail are impressive..as is everything in Zion. Go early to avoid the crowds.

Excellent trail and wonderful views along the whole route. If you’re looking for parking it is marked as Dry Creek trail at the main road. With that said parking at the trailhead is minimal but parking on the main road works and is definitely worth the views on this hike.

Amazing and Death Defying.

If your in Sedona AZ it’s a must hike

This is a beautiful hike! Absolutely gorgeous scenery! You will cross the creek 13 times on the way in so you’ll definitely need waterproof shoes. Will definitely do again.

Quick and easy trail in a very convenient location. I would not even consider it a hike. I would suggest this hike if you are in the area like at the zoo or the botanical garden. There were lots of people when we were there around 3pm so it was nearly impossible to get pictures without other people in the background. There is plenty of parking unlike many other trails in the area.

This trail is no secret, but it is everything it is hyped up to be and more. My friend and I did it as a spur on a longer overnight journey into Zion’s indescribably ethereal backcountry via the West Rim Trail, which I would highly recommend. There are beautiful views from the trail camps, and it really takes you through all of the classic Zion environments. The landing definitely slowed us down a bit thanks to the crowds. Walter’s Wiggles, the switchbacks on the initial climb up the canyon, are difficult, exposed and steep, but the spur up to Angel’s Landing itself is not as physically taxing as it is nerve-wracking—the trail gets to be an extremely narrow ridge at points, and you feel like a bighorn sheep! As everyone has mentioned, start at the very first light, if not earlier—that’s the best way in the desert, to beat the heat and the peeps. Nothing like jumping into the Virgin when you descend back into the valley!

Nice mix of easier and challenging sections. Great views if you take the time to enjoy them. I got 7.35 miles the couple times I’ve run this trail.

This trail is very heavily trafficked trail that leads to the start of the lower narrows. It is a nice walk along the Virgin river but is built for the high traffic so you are walking on concrete or pavement most of the way up. We had great views of the waterfall on our hiking day because it has snowed the night before and the snow was melting.

Enjoyable hike, but crowed. Spectacular views. Rated as moderate but has sections with significant rock climbs. Used the Baldwin/Templeton routes to access the trail, added 2 miles to the hike. Avoided the crowded trail head problem.
