很不错的一条线路,一路树荫,这个季节山下39度,山里很凉快,就是没什么水,推荐!2-3小时走完

The falls are gorgeous! The teepee was an unexpected surprise. Great easy/moderate hike.

WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE. Loud, trash littered by the trail, and people playing music from their phones while walking on the trails. If you’re seeking solitude and a dip in the lake to cool off this is not the spot for you. Probably best to go on a very early morning. The location is beautiful, but the cons far outweigh the positive aspects in my opinion. Could probably be a better hike if you go further into nature away from the lake.

Too many rocks on the trail but the trail is really clean and the views are amazing! It gets a bit dangerous towards the top. You’ll have to climb the rocks so be careful! As for parking, there’s a parking lot across the entrance of the trail and it’s free.

Lovely. If you go early most of the trail doesn’t get direct sunlight. Towards the end though the parking lot feels like 1000 miles away even though it says
.52 miles. Lots of rabbits and lizards! We even saw raccoon tracks.

The beginning of the trail to the waterfall is easy. If you decide to continue up the trail to the left you’re at an incline until you reach the Deer Valley Loop. That’s another mile-ish loop and then you go back down the way you came.
There isn’t much shade on the trail, only when you reach the abandoned structures along the way.
It’s really woodsy in some areas with streams, and there are lots of birds & lizards. Overall very beautiful, and quiet on the harder trail.

Great trail. You’ll come to an area where you think the trail ends, at this point follow the creek it will guide you back to the trail or just follow the creek to the waterfall. Nice area to hang out by the bottom of the upper falls.

A little harder than moderate at some of the road diversions. Warm and sunny! Loved it. You can see the ocean from some spots.

Nice, light hike. Great for after work and for sunsets. Highly trafficked, so ideal for groups.

one of my favorite hikes here in socal

Great hike!! The ruins are quite interesting. Nice that they have a write-up on the home that used to be, complete with pictures. The falls were very nice, even though a bit light, as there has been no rain lately.

We wanted to take the entire loop, so we made the decision to follow other hikers’ advice and start out on the Rising Sun Trail. Taking this way gets the steep incline portion out of the way in the first leg of the hike, which really helped to make the rest more enjoyable.

At first we thought the falls were closed, because of an early sign saying “area closed”, but this is misleading. There is another way to the falls just behind the ruins, as this was essentially their back yard.

The way back alternated on a paved road and hopping over the tiny stream, and it was really nice...easy.

The Thomas Fire burnt most of the foliage but there are some large oaks still alive and water was flowing lightly in the creek. We saw lizards, frogs, many types of birds and no snakes, ticks or mosquitos so it was all good in my book. We didn’t make it to the pine grove and are unsure if they still stand.

Loved it so much nature to see and explore and not a hard hike at all.

Great hike! Not long, bring the kids!

Where the trail ends the real fun starts : boulder jumping and climbing, canyoneering....

Perfect hike for introducing your kids to the wilderness been taking my daughter there since she was of walking age . Good times

Intense yet beautiful!! Worth every step of the way up!!!

Calm and beautiful on a Sunday evening!

When I went on this hike on July 14th, the trails were poorly maintained. So much of the grass and brush was overgrown that for 40% of the hike you’re walking on a path a foot wide, with plants scraping at you up to you waist. The trails are also not clearly marked. The trail has little shade as well. The view of the ocean is nice, but the majority of the hike is in overgrown grass, and this view could similarly been seen by driving to an overlook. I would avoid this hike.

Fairly easy hike through beautiful terrain. Our dog loved it :)

Beautiful trail with lots of great places to stop and admire nature! I would rate it a "medium" instead of "easy" since it's mostly uphill/downhill. We will definitely be hiking here again!

Awesome views and easy to navigate. Not much shade along trails until you hit the teepee and the waterfall. Arrived around 11 AM on a Monday and did not run into very many people. Bring water and sunscreen! And be sure to pick up after your four legged friends.

Not much shade until you hit the waterfall but overall, it’s a fun hike!

Great trail! Relaxing waterfall and scenery. They hike back up was a bit challenging. :) Bring water and a hat. Very limited shade.

My Buddy and I biked this trail this hot morning. Started at 7 Am parking was full, lots of hikers ........No bears but we did see lots squirrels a hawk and lots of butterflies!..... definitely cooler in the lower parts .....Dear Hikers please coordinate with bicyclists for safe passage in the narrow sandy trail parts .....! Dear cycling brothers hang a bell on your bikes it makes hikers aware of your presence.....stay safe and hydrated......love light and good vibes from Victor!!!

Beautiful trail. We did see a brown bear. Too close for comfort. Made lots of noise. All are safe.

Fun Hike! Bring your hat, sun glasses and sunscreen not very much shade on the trail. kid friendly! We brought our 3 1/2 year old daughter. She loved it and walked the whole way.

Great trail!

Great hike. Beautiful, rather easy. Kids loved it. Not long.

Nice loop hike with some good views and not a ton of people and plenty of parking (arrived at 8:30 am on a Sunday). I would definitely recommend turning left (clockwise) to start off the hike, even though I went right (counterclockwise). Going clockwise will give you more shade towards the end of the hike when it’s hotter. The path does have a lot of loose stones/rocks in some areas so make sure to watch your step.
