Great, easy to get to trail in Seattle. Amazing views

Amazing trail! Go early on a weekday and you’ll practically have it to yourself (I left the trailhead at 7:30am and there were only few other cars). Took me ~80’ of powerhiking to summit (excluding haystack) and 40’ to run down. But I also spent plenty of time at the summit, exploring the rocks and scrambling up haystack (do it!). The views were just stunning. Rainier towers over the rest of the Cascades and the olympics were totally clear to the west. Very little snow at the top. I did the whole thing in trail running shoes and didn’t have a problem.

This was my 2nd time coming here. I love it. I hated outmaneuver underneath the fallen logs from the storm not to long ago. If you have bad knees yes this will be awkwardly painful. Other than that at the ledge it was super windy and cold. Took my group of ladies about 3 hours to finish. The sunset was pretty <3

Easy trails to the bottom of both spectacular falls! The trail to the top of Golden Falls is an easy incline and the views from the top are definitely worth the hike. Overall, stunning scenery.

A real decent hike and a great trail run, too.

Went at 1:15pm. Very crowded in parts of the trail but was able to run some on the way up and down. Beautiful views! Worth every bit of traffic!

Not too strenuous and no views going up. Views at the three ledges aren’t as good as surrounding national parks.

No snow or ice on the path at all. It was a little crowded even though we went up around 9am but the view up there was amazing. When we went down around 1pm the parking lot was packed so I would recommend to go there early.

Arrived at the trailhead at 9am on a Sunday. Roughly half the lot was full. The haystack is very dry and you climbable. Most folks didn’t attempt so I was all alone up there around 11am :)

Trail is well made with stones. discover pass for parking. on sunny day, Seattle and Bellevue and a bunch of popular mountains including Mt Rainier are visible.
I measured hike up to be 4 miles. Hard to find good spot for lunch. Top is mountain is a little risky with too many stones and almost rock climbing.
Overall great experience, better than mailbox peak.

Great moss covered boulders along the way up. Saw that little blue jay at the top, right after sunrise. Very windy during sunrise, I advise a strong jacket if you go that early.

Difficult hike in my opinion. Crazy good workout, was drenched in sweat by the time I reached the point. There are two ways to reach Poo point, Chirico trail is one of them. There’s a high steep level for the most part. You would get to hear traffic for the first 1/2 mile, then it’s peaceful till the Poo Poo point. Amazing views of Mt Rainer! No para gliding in winter, was so looking forward to the views I read about in reviews.

Awesome hike. Beautiful trail and view. It was closer to 5 miles round trip.

Challenging ascent! Two of us hiked in regular boots and were perfectly fine the entire climb. Very windy at the too and quite chilly so bring a summit jacket... absolutely stunning views at the summit. Go on a clear day!

Great little hike!

Pretty challenging hike and not for beginners. Even being in the military, this one made me fairly sore for a few days. On a clear day, the summit is beautiful.

The views from the bluff out over the water are really nice and the beach is a nice play to sit and relax. due to the rain we have been getting parts of the trail were muddy so bring shoes you don't mind getting dirty. If possible go early in the morning as it gets pretty packed from noon on.

2nd time here view still amazing took 2 first timers with us they loved it started 1:35pm -4:40pm stop and took a lot of photos few trees down due to wind storm night before but trail was still busy

This is my 2nd hike to Rattlesnake Ledge. Beautiful well maintained trail, no ice or sleet. Fairly easy hike to the top for moderate to experienced hikers. I went at 8:30, wasn’t as crowded. The view was amazing! Very windy at the top, but I took a break to eat and the scenery was just wow! Additionally, bathrooms are well maintained and stocked. Unlike many other places that I have hiked to. I will definitely go back again.

Great rewards for such a short hike! Only 2 miles to the top, but still a workout. No snow or ice. Trail is in good shape and bathrooms at the trailhead we're clean and stocked! (Always a plus)

Beautiful day hike!

Nice hike. Trail only a bit muddy. Saw the blue jay at the top.

Absolutely stunning in the spring.

Went on 12/3 at 0730. It was a rainy, windy day. There wasn't much to see from the top, but there was only one other person on the trail! The trail is very well maintained, and I could see myself coming back here to relax by the lake in the summer. Just don't follow the Google maps directions and use the AllTrails map to get to the location. All in all, it was a nice, little workout!

Steep hike up Mount Si. Great views at the top but not much on the way up.

Went on the last date of the 2018. It was sunny and clear, the view at the top was amazing. Temperature was about 30s at the trail head, but in the teens at the top. Didn’t feel too cold though, as we generated much heat during the hike. Some mud along the trail but that was expected as it had been raining the whole week before.
The last 1.5 miles was covered in snow so we had our microspikes on. I saw couple of people with flat shoes made it to the top, and couple other people in shorts and flip-flops. Guys, just don’t wear shorts and flip-flops in winter hikes. For your sanity shake, just buy a pair of cheap microspikes.

Saw some dog poo on the way down, which was bad.
Overall it was a great hike, lot of people but not too crowded in the winter.

Cold but not too packed!

I’ve done this hike 8 times or so in the past 2 years. Always a good hike, but if you’re going in the winter bring micro spikes. $56 on Amazon. You’re welcome.
