Did the whole loop today (middle of winter). Was difficult going through the snow, but became one of my favourite trails. Picks in incline but worth it when you get to the very top. 5/5 would recommend. Will revisit during spring.

Ahhh, this luxurious park seems to have it all! It boasts trails of all levels, off leash dog area, and some fantastic views. I cannot remember which we hiked, as I feel we meandered between a few, but the experience was one to cherish. We hiked with our 7 year old and small dog among the red rock landscape. Coming up over a hill to take in the view of The Garden of the Gods at golden hour was nothing short of magnificent. I will certainly return to this open space to explore the remaining trails we were unable to complete.

Nice location.
Wonderful views.
Nice parking lot with bathroom
Would recommend

Nice area for a short or long hike.

Incredible!

Lots of horse poop but a nice hike for the kids to walk.

I enjoy this trail, but always scared I’m going to get trampled by a mountain biker.

Super easy hike and we would give it five stars but all the horse sh*t on the entire trail was a little rough. Why are dog owners expected to clean up after their dogs but horses can open up the poop chute whenever and their owners can disregard it? It’s poop, people. If it comes out of a butthole, I don’t want to step in it...I don’t care what the animal ate.

Anyway! Great Christmas Day hike! We will be back!

Perfect for a shorter hike. Nice because you can take it further if you have more time (this trail connects to ring the peak). Beautiful all year round! The greens in the summer are fantastic, fall colors are great, and winter is beautiful as well. I would caution if you go in the winter have the right gear, as you may experience snow, ice and muddy trails.

Nice loop. Expansive views.
Walking CW the elevation change is steeper than hiking CCW.

Pretty but also pretty easy to get off trail and get lost. Still worth checking out if you have a couple hours to spare. There are also some nice dog parks

Nice trails. Easy walk with lovely views. Lots of folks on horses but no bikes which is great we did a 6 mile loop

Nice trails with nice views

Getting snow-packed in shady areas, with occasional ice. I didn’t need microspikes.....which is good since I didn’t have them with me.

Not at all crowded this morning. My dog and I saw seven people and nine dogs.....all friendly.

Varying views and terrain. Great hike to take your four legged companion

Really enjoyed that this was a quiet trail- the downside is that most of the big views you are afforded are because of a power line that cuts through the landscape:/ Always a good day for a hike... but the quietness of this trail is probably the main reason I would have in coming back.

We did a beautiful snowy walk up to Dewy’s Hill with some friends and all the kids. It was pretty with the gentle snowfall, the kids loved it. Nice winter walk!

The Dawson Butte Trail is relatively flat and well marked. It runs through pine forests and more open spaces with meadow and mountain views. A sign at the trailhead warns mountain lions are active in the area, but we didn't see any trace of them. It seems to be a popular horse trail, so watch your step!

Good hike. Very flat with good scenery. The only drawback is the sandy trails in some parts and the frequent piles of horse poop on the trail.

Easy trail with shade and nice views. Considerable traffic noise along Tomah road but lessens on the north side of the loop. Lots of horses to keep you company. Would be a great family outing.

Not crowded, beautiful views (must have been even better with fall colors a week or two earlier). Very easy. We enjoyed it . Only con is the noise from highway 83. It’s not loud, but still a bit too bad. Want to come back in the spring when it’s all green.

Great walk in the woods, lots of fun with many places to stop and take pictures. Several benches and a few picnic tables. Open to horses so lots of "road apples" on the trail.

9-29-2018:
Pluses - Some fall color, no idea if it's peak or past, seemed mixed depending on the area. Not crowded. Well marked. Well maintained trails. Dedicated parking lot. Some good views.
Minuses - Power lines. Road. Generally not far enough from civilization. A motorcycle passed us on the trail.

Hot in summer. But beautiful

Enjoyed the trail overall. The first mile or so was a little boring and the Aspens near the trailhead were mostly all green (9-23-18). The entire trail had a bunch of Aspens and it wasn’t until about the halfway point that we started seeing color. The hike was pretty easy - only a few parts with a decent incline. It took my wife, 4 year old and I about 3 hours to complete the loop with lots of stopping for pictures and lunch. I’m not a trail runner but this would be a nice trail for that. The only major bummer about the trail was following the power lines, but that was expected. Really enjoyed seeing views of Pikes Peak for the majority of the hike.

Nice close trail!

Busy. I would say this is highly trafficked. It is beautiful this time of year!

Small parking lot/trailhead was tucked behind some houses. Turn L into the parking lot with a city maintenance building (looks like a fire station) and the trailhead is just beyond it. Trail was nice and pretty well marked. Some beautiful views and the aspen trees were turning (some full yellow, others almost there). There were some steep climbs but they leveled off and most of the 5 miles was a pleasant level hike (we went clockwise) There is cell coverage so we were able to check the AllTrails app about 1/2 way through the hike to make sure we were on the right track.

Quiet and relaxing area. Something different from the mountains.
