Beautiful during winter.

Fun short hike, there’s a cool down climb at the bottom

Easy and stunning hikes. Mid November all the lakes were frozen too, hard enough to walk on when we were there. Can’t wait to go back and do the whole thing

This one is a walk in the woods - a sweet little meandering trail that never gets too strenuous and offers scenic views of the Carson Valley below. The trail follows the curves of the canyon and was quite kid friendly once you get past the initial ascent. We saw several mountain bikers today, so be aware of this, especially with the frequent blind spots around switch backs.

Soo beautiful view for such a small and easy hike!

Steep hike all the way up to the lake, great views along the way but the lake was very small and hardly any water left in it this time of year. So, if you're doing this hike, do it for the views rather than the lake. I was the only hiker all the way up and back.

Great short hike to a beautiful lake!

Great mellow trail. Beautiful in late October when the aspens are changing.

Beautiful hike! Continued on to Chicken Foot for a total of 6 miles. A new favorite! 5 lakes, multiple streams, craggy Mountain Views. Fascinating geology all around and plenty of photo ops!

A beautiful hike and over almost every ridge there is another lake. With the jagged peaks, green meadows with wildflowers, lakes and streams this hike has everything you could ask for.

The climb is a little steep but very doable! Lots of great views around the entire lake!

Walk the entire perimeter and you’ll see a number of small streams feeding into the lake!

Amazing walk among all the beauties of fall colors and amazing reflections

Gorgeous views especially in fall with all the colors.
Great easy hike for dogs

Although the path itself is not very pretty, you will get an epic view of Mount Conness and North Peak. Highly recommend for a day long stroll. Bring supplies for a picnic and lots of sunscreen!

Don’t miss the view up past the lake! So tranquil. Lovely fall colors with the aspen grove were why we came back today.

Took my pup out for a jaunt. Most of the trail was closed, but it was a pretty walk. Very loud in most places because of highway and helicopters. Trail not marked around the lake, but seems pretty clear at the start. Check the maps up front. Will be back to do surrounding trails!

Pretty unique!

Nice pit stop. The tufa rocks were interesting to look at but the flies and smell was a little off putting. $3/person cash

beautiful aspens, distant waterfalls, this trail has it all. In spring, Wooley Mules Ears. Trail obviously used by pack team but its fairly easy although the elevation/rocky terrain makes it moderate. Its the journey, not the destination! Take some time to visit the mine relecks, so cool!

I absolutely love this hike!! Hiking to the lake is a bit of a work out going up and definitely got your heart pumping. Although, it was short and lots of shade. So it wasn’t too bad. Very beautiful lake!! There wasn’t many people. Took our time walking around the lake and taking in the scenery. It was easy going back down the trail. I would definitely come back again. It was worth the hike.

Great, fun hike! Pretty level throughout. Lots of rocks on the Western side, but the other side is a breeze! Will probably do it again sometime!

Short but a good to see in Mammoth.

Easy hike with beautiful views!
But you do not really need to go anywhere from the parking lot to see the most beautiful view

Easy and enjoyable trail along the lake. Parked at the Marina and took the walk around the lake as I waited for sunset. Small stream at the back of the lake where you take a boardwalk over it. I started on the right of the Marina and went counter clockwise. Be sure to stop and look back every now and again because the views really look differently from a different angle.

A second trip to this wonderful place is in store with the family. Went with the Fresno Fly Fishers for Conservation and this hike to long lake was awesome. Highly recommend for all ages.

Nice easy walk around the lake. We didn't run into too many people. It was nice and peaceful.

My husband and are in our 70’s and we hiked it with a little effort. Very beautiful lake! Would go again in a minute!

Such a fun trail. Beautiful mountains. Depending how far you go, neat rocks and waterfalls. Not very well marked.
