Such cool views - feels like on another planet. Easy terrain overall!
good trail, can be windy at top
Definitely one of my new favorite trails up at the base of the Sandias/foothills. There were so many beautiful views! It’s a great hike that isn’t too difficult, but will definitely have you huffing and puffing at some parts, and will definitely have you breaking a sweat. I only did about 2.5 miles of the trail but hope to go back soon and try to make a full day hike of it!
Fun little trail. It's good for beginners trying to get used to inclines. It was pretty sunny but there was plenty of shade that pops up along the way. It would be a great trail for bikers!
Awesome day. Awesome hike. Saw 3 mule deer less than 50' away.
Awesome views.
Great trail. Very easy to follow. After the first half mile, great views for the rest. The parking lot was closed, so we parked along the highway and walked in along the road an additional 1.5 miles. No ice or snow.
dogs and I had a blast. was warm, but not windy. yay. ignore my drive home. was out 2.5 hours.
Many people pay alot of Money for a Spa Treatment like that!! Great Hike! Well worth a Revisit.
Great variety of trails. Sometimes tough to follow trails but gps is helpful and there is service on the entire hike. No shade but worth it. Awesome hike
Beautiful day— warmed up through the afternoon and felt like summer. The creek was running. We enjoyed speculating about the ghost town and talking about the fleeting unique present. Ended up hiking more miles than we thought because I didn’t pay attention. Parked at the church along the main road and walked in through the bike trails .
The trail was in excellent shape all the way up to about 3 miles. After that we spoke to someone who said at about 4 and 1/4 miles it was to treacherous to continue to the top. Way too much ice and snow. Beautiful day!!
Trail was great. Glad I brought spikes, lots of snow and ice at about 3 miles. Snow disappears for a while until about less than a mile to top and then the snow is a couple feet deep if you slip or misstep. Still enjoyed!
I got on the trail at 7am Saturday morning went 90 minutes up total turn around was 2 hours .. good run
Views were amazing all around the loop. We went clockwise and there were some inclines, but nothing too terrible. There's little shade, but on the east side there are some shade trees. We also clocked 8.15mi, so not sure where we wandered, but the trail is marked well (I think we just unknowingly did a spur).
Lots more dry sections! Still some slush at about 2.75 miles up
I started at Albertsons parking lot up to Pino Trail and did a #365 loop .. pretty awesome
lots of snow
Nice loop. I agree with whoever said that the Gnasty Wag portion was the best!
It was a beautiful hike this morning. I got on the trail at 7:30 and had the mountain to myself. The key to winter hiking are my snow trax, a real must when hiking icy trails. I hiked up about an hour. Its a must hike and really close to the city
Durante casi todo el recorrido, había mucho lodo y aguanieve. Pero las vistas y la tranquilidad valen mucho la pena. No había mucha gente y era domingo por la tarde. Sugiero llevar bastones hasta que la tierra se seque un poco más.
Pretty nice trail. Beginning and end are a little boring, but the middle is very interesting. Definitely wouldn’t want to try in the rain.
Simply beautiful. 360 degree views the entire route, lots of variety, all spectacular.
