I've done this trail dozens of times and today on a whim i went the opposite direction, so i did the loop backwards.. I didn't think i could love Trillium trail any more but i was wrong. I'll never stop being surprised at the views on this trail. happy Earth Day y'all!! :)

so pretty. Great for kids and those that adore nature but have physical owies that make hiking to beautiful vistas difficult a lot of times.

Nice, pretty trail. Connects to lots of the other trails, but don’t miss this section - it was our favorite!

Great hike! Dry spell (for April) son minimal mud. If you use GPS on this app you can avoid wrong turns.

Hiking

We (me and six yo twin girls) hiked on April 17th early in the morning and it was beautiful. We started the trail as it followed the spring creek. There were cool rock formations with little caves. It led to a beautiful view of the mill and spring. After it wound around the spring and past the mill it had switchbacks to the top that were full of Dogwoods and Redbuds in bloom. The view was great from the top. We finished the trail and saw many spring flowers.

Gorgeous spring wildflowers. I disagree with the trail description about the beginning being steep, it's a moderate incline at best. If you go counterclockwise you'll get the bluffs and bluebells (while they last!) in the first 1/3 or so of the hike. The remaining meanders through the forest and there's a lot of cool moss covered rocks and some sinkholes. To get to the trailhead you have to park in the lot for the Pike Run trail and walk through the campground. It's just to the right of the shower house.

Hiking

Mooner’s Hollow is probably one of my most favorite trails to hike. It’s not hard, you can hear the water moving throughout the hike and it has so many beautiful flowers along the way. The best way to start this hike is not by going across the bridge but by starting at most would deem the “end” of the hike. It saves the best views of the water/waterfall for the end.

Loved this trail! The Sandstone Canyon was about half way and was cool to explore. The rock formations were neat along the way. I was worried about the incline since I’m a novice hiker, but it wasn’t too strenuous. The time flew by.

Amazing in the spring when the dogwoods and wildflowers are in full bloom. Saw lots of butterflies, lizards, a snake climbing a tree and a giant bullfrog by the waterfall. Nice varied terrain and well marked.
