very easy & picturesque. It was sad to see how many people have made their own trails. stay on the marked trails people!!
I thought the trail was easy enough, even for someone who is as out of shape as me. it's doable. loved it!
An amazing experience! I’d do it again.
An amazing hike! My 3yo made it to the top! My husband plunged in 2x. Beautiful all the way up! Highly recommend!
Outstanding close and personal trail with some true giants.
Great hike, one of the top 5 in Yellowstone probably
Amazing. Nothing too crazy as far as inclines go. Very surreal and peaceful and inspiring. 10/10 would go again
Great quick hike! Brought the dogs on our trip, so couldn’t do anything too crazy. This was a nice hike with a bit of booty-blastin’ elevation towards the end. There were a few muddy parts of the trail, but nothing too crazy, very manageable.
Beautiful trail. Loved the bridges and stairs to get up high enough to see the falls properly. Definitely a quick one, but worth it if you like waterfalls.
About 2 miles in the trail ends. There are bridges that are put in across the river but they have not been installed yet this season. You can cross the river and sand bars but I recommend doing this only if you know where the trail picks back up on the other side.
One of the most stunning visual and visceral experiences - like a fantasy land
As of 4/11, the road is still closed, and the road to the trailhead was longer than stated on the reviews - closer to 2.5 overall. We logged just about 11 miles and still didn’t reach the falls. We had to turn back to due to lack of time. Most people just had boots and poles, but I would highly suggest microspikes - they were very useful for most of the trail, especially closer to the end when the trail is icy and narrow, with a steep drop off to the side. Also, there is a river crossing and the seasonal bridge is not up yet, just a couple of logs that are on the verge of being submerged.
Beautiful veiws, wish I could have finished it. I agree with the reviews below. I almost always finish a hike, but this one got too steep. I and the couple behind me all turned around with our snow shoes because of how steep it was. We also were having a hard time finding the actual trail. I’m sure a more experienced snowshoer may have more luck, as this was my first time ever wearing them. I still had a wonderful time though.
The Hoh Rain Forest feels like another planet! The greenery everywhere is amazing, I wanted to stop often to take photos. A little muddy & cool for this time of year, but doable. Make sure to wear clothes/shoes you don’t mind getting dirty!
Very cool, easy trail. Ferns not totally green yet, so not quite as spectacular as it could be.
really liked this trail!!! went onto lovers lane for a mile or so and there were some fallen trees but easily manageable
Incredible trail. Steep, but very worth it!
This time of year, not a lot of ferns have grown back since winter. Also, lots of scrambling to avoid the stream.
Bring gators, snow shoes, and waterproof pants.
4/9/2020 trip report Nice and cool hike to fern canyon, not muddy at all until you get to fern canyon. Redwoods are beautiful, trail is well maintained. Started at 2pm, finished around 530pm and saw less than 20 people
Love the rainforest with views of the mountains up the Hoh River Valley. Lots of roots but trail in great shape.
