Excellent day for it. Fully packed trail, no spikes until the ice glaze at the top (left them on for the trip down tho - allowed me to run the whole way without slippage!), suuuuuper windy at the top. Difficult to stay standing!

Trail was packed but steep and slick in spots. Micro spikes are a must. Clear skies. Windy at the top. Overall very enjoyable hike.

BackpackingGreat!Snow

Couldn't have asked for a better day of hiking today 18 Feb 2021. Experienced no wind during the hike except for a slight breeze at the summit. Temps were in the low 20's. Trail was very nicely packed. Be careful when stepping off the packed trail. Snow appears to be crusty on the surface but you'll punch through quickly and sink at least a foot. Stay on the path :) We were able to bare boot on the way up. Decided it best to wear crampons for the descent. Took us 1 hour 10 minutes to the summit. 50 minutes to come down. All Trails App recorded 3.7 miles to the summit from the Flume Gorge parking lot north end. Once you've gone through the third tunnel (under the highway) the trail starts a steady incline all the way to the summit. No need to worry, this incline is very easy hiking. Wife and I are in our mid 50's and avid hikers. We parked at the Flume Gorge parking lot on the north end. Signs clearly visible pointing you to the trailhead. Follow blue blazes and before you know it you've reached the summit. For all you "out-of-staters" after you've completed the hike I recommend you drive less than a mile south on RT. 3 to the Indian Head Resort for a great photo opportunity. Pull into the parking lot and look to the west (Indian Head), aka....Mount Pemigewasset. Highly recommend you add Mount Pemigewasset to your winter hiking to do list. Short easy hike with an amazing view!!

HikingGreat!IcyScrambleSnow

Woohoo! Access road is closed but the walk up to trailhead is a quick and easy warm up. Didn’t need snowshoes but one hundred percent wear ice spikes. Views from the top were stunning but short lived since the wind was so epic, I hunkered over at the base of the fire tower for a quick photo op but that was it. Snow well packed down. Pack for layers.

Valentine's hike 2/14/2021 Parked at the back parking lot of the Flume Gorge. Took the Pemigewasset Trail. Snow was packed down so only needed spikes. Head up the road about 4/10th and trail is on the left. After you go through 3 tunnels you start heading up the trail. steady incline. The trail gets pretty when you hit the conifer forest. At about 1.8 there is a sign that says Indian Head Trial that points to the right. It doesn't say Pemigewasset so just make sure you go to the left. Once the trail opens to the summit you get an incredible view. The ledges are a bit intimidating. Alltrails put us at 1.9 miles to the summit. 52WAV

HikingGreat!Snow

Wonderful day for a sunrise hike! Snow was well-packed which made for easy navigation, but it would have been tricky without microspikes as some of the steeper sections had been smoothed over, probably by someone’s bum on the descent. Heard some lovely chirping birds and brought cushions to sit on once we reached the overlook. Ascent took about 90min and descent was about 50min

Another beautiful walk in the woods. this is a relatively easy trail and the views down to Lincoln, I93 corridor, and the southwest Whites are worth the effort. The trail is well-packed and super easy to follow. Spikes highly recommended, but no need for shoes. Can't say how the next few days' snow changes that.
