2018 Yellowstone Map

Beautiful. And is closer to easy than moderate. Plenty of change but plenty flat

Beautiful easy hike underwater thermo features pretty not super crowded when I was there. Avoid times of due north or me wind

Nic trail and at highest elevation stay near trail area it seems open in areas where you can be tempered to wander a bit but beware as thermo features are not clearly marked off so danger danger of if wander

Great views of the Yellowstone Canyon on this. While there is the trail that can be walked in its entirety, there are also parking spots at various places so you can make this work however you please in terms of whether you want to hike it or just stop at the designated viewpoints. I went as the sun was setting and it was incredibly beautiful.

Just do it. It's beautiful, easy and underwater geysers are just plain cool. Plus---the Colors!

I have done this Mystic Falls loop three different times of the summer. Mid-to-late June is the best b/c the snow melt is awesome; the water is roaring; and there are small waterfalls that are very nice that are gone by mid-July and thereafter. Every time I go back to YNP, this hike is a Must. A repeat.

What a view! Wow... a bunch of stairs! Totally worth the slow stair adventure on the way back up to the trail. Don't worry about having to rest between flights. There are random levels to rest and catch your breath, if need be.

We were able to go in late October. It was a wonderful hike since we were about the only ones there!!! We saw lots of bison and such interesting and magnificent scenery!

I didn’t hike the trail —we only went to the touristy section where you can see Inspiration point and the canyon. It was amazing. So beautiful. Probably one of the prettiest places in Yellowstone.

Grateful our Hiking group took the time to see this even though was w little crowded. Go early for fewer crowds.

I guess if you are going to show some out of town folks Old Faithful and want to call it a hike, this would be the route, but not really something I’d do again unless that was the exact goal. Hiking up to observation point started to feel like I was finally hiking but then by the time I got away from the crowds of people we began to descend into them again. Views of a bunch of tourists waiting for Old Faithful to erupt, and a river bridge, and a descent view overlooking the other side of the lodge. Good if it’s your first time in the park and just want to walk around.

Not very busy on Black Friday. Was very icy in some areas, but enjoyable on a beautiful sunny day!

Old Faithful is way too hyped up. Its predictably is about all that’s notable. Beyond that it’s jammed with bus upon bus of tourists who leaving thinking “that was it?”. My recommendation is to get away from the main events and hike to some waterfalls - Mystic, Fairy, Osprey. They are not difficult to get to and you’ll taste more of the ruggedness and beauty of Yellowstone.

Make sure to do the entire loop. If you start low, keep going up and up and up after you pass the falls. It’s a peaceful hike and chances are you won’t encounter many others. The view at the top is great.

Wonderful sights!

Fascinating sights!

Unbelievable sights. Very beautiful view of Yellowstone Lake.

Stairs, and lots of them. Absolutely a must do trail If you go to Yellowstone. The bottoms allows you to get stunning photos of the Grand Canyon of Waterfalls. If you've even wanted to see the base of a waterfall, do this trail. It's completely breathtaking and virtually impossible to take a bad photo whether you are using a cellphone, DSLR, Bridge, or point and shoot. As far as if you are looking to carry camera gear, be careful. After all the hiking and calories burnt climbing the over 300 steel steps to the top , be sure to stop and get yourself a Wilcoxson's huckleberry ice cream sandwich ... or a boxful.

Easy paved walk down to the top of Upper Yosemite Falls, you can watch the water shoot by and over. You get a better view looking up to the falls from downstream on some of the other trails, but the sheer water volume is impressive. Our visit was during chilly, overcast weather, but still enjoyed the roaring torrents. Worth a stop.

2 different thermal features which are very unique on their own.

Unique geothermal activity by the side of the lake gives it a different appeal.

Very Unique geological experience

Short mud pot trail, there are much better areas to view geothermal activities. 3.8 miles/6 km south of Norris Junction, the lower portion of this colorful hydrothermal area is wheelchair-accessible. The upper trail to the mudpots is steep and rough, and not recommended for visitors using wheelchairs. Fountain Paintpots is a better viewing area.

Beautiful trail with amazing views. Hiked parts of it in July 2017. You can get right next to the head of Yellowstone falls and/or take some great photos at a distance as well. Not for small children.

Saw Elk at this interesting group of hot springs adjacent to the Yellowstone Lake

The stairs coming up were certainly tough but the falls were beautiful and I enjoyed this trail.

A good change of pace from the geyser basin boardwalk trails. No crowds and a surprisingly nice waterfall to view. We hiked to this from the Old Faithful Lodge so it was a little longer than the stated 3.4 miles.

Lots to see here.

Four stars because of the awesome scenery! Trail was closed in 2 places, so was unable to hike the entire thing. Pretty easy hike with lots of people.
