Great easy short hike to see waterfalls.

Great View from the top but very busy trail .

I hiked this today and I was very happy with the trip. It takes a leisurely couple hours and expect some 60% gradients and a lot of stairs. Well worth it though!

Amazing views. So worth it

I have done this trail twice, both times in the fall, and it has had beautiful fall colors. It is a fairly easy hike along the lake with a few climbs and lots of roots. Trekking poles will come in handy. We hiked on a Sunday afternoon and there were quite a few people out there but still peaceful.

Straight up Stairs! This is a good and challenging trial with a view that is worth the effort. I don’t mind hiking moderate trails, but this one had a good section of the trail as stairs with timbers or stone steps, which is hard on my knees, especially on the way down. It also makes the trial narrow in places which caused for bottle necks. Fun hike, very busy on a fall weekend, but the view is so worth it.

Nice trail with pretty scenery. A little slick in spots. New leaf cover or fresh snow could make it hard to follow.
It’s a five for what it is. A nice loop with some hills for either exercise or relaxation.

A nice local trail with a variety of terrain and pleasant views of one of the lakes on the Greensboro watershed.

wonderful loop along small creek. Flat and easy. Approximately 2 miles

Nice walk ... not very interesting, but nice.

Took my 7 and 4 year olds and they loved it and did great.

Definitely a workout. I found it pretty hard on the knees, optimal for biking I'm sure. Lots of wildlife. Quite the beautiful hike with many different types of terrain. Whoever has been responsible for clearing the Tropical Storm Michael damage from the trail, my hat goes off to you. There were so many trees down, but I never had to cross an obstacle on the trail. Job well done!! Looking forward to my next visit!

So, this isn't the most scenic trail, I know, but you'll see some interesting flora if you look closely enough. Because it is relatively new, you don't have to contend much with roots from erosion. It's a quiet trail, little traveled, with few bikes--which is nice because you aren't having to move out of the way constantly. (I've noticed for some reason that I'M always the one moving.) Beware of ticks, though, if you are hiking in the summer. I've found one twice after hiking this trail.

One of the beautiful places to see the fall colors. It was an easy hike and pet friendly. Usually takes 2-3 hrs from car to car.

The changes in elevation on the Laurel Bluff side of the trail are a bit larger than many trails in the area, which is nice. The city finally cut back the kudzu that was overgrowing the trail, just a week before hurricane Michael knocked quite a few large trees across the trail. Would be nice if other hikers abided by the city's leash ordinances.

short hike but enough to make you sweat due elevation! the view on top was great! glad me and my kids did this hike.watch out for the cliff.

Nice, quiet and uncrowded hike through a secondary growth forest of oak, beech, tulip poplar and sweetgum. Provides an interesting chance to see the underlying bedrock of this area where the stream has cut down to it (the "Cascades"), which appears to be a gneiss or schist ( though I'm not a geologist). Recommended for those living in the Northeast Forsyth, Northwest Guilford Area who want to get in a quick hike or trail run close to home. For those living further away, I would not recommend driving great distances to come here unless you happen to be passing through.Me and my dog had the trail all to ourselves on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Window and hidden falls are beautiful just not a whole lot once you get to them! The travel to hanging rock is amazing with a little challenge to it! Definitely will be going back.

Awesome trail! Allowed us to get out of the car for a couple hours and stretch our legs on the 11 hour drive home from Myrtle Beach to Northeast Ohio. It was a bit crowded but the trail itself was challenging and fun! Hidden gem in NC!

Nice easy walk!

Not very challenging but nice trail through the woods.

One of my favorite hiking spots. Never crowded. Trails come back into the center of the park in several locations so your hike can be as short or as long as you wish.

easy and large for running

Amazing view

Nice trail for kids and dogs, we had fun playing in the creek although don’t be mislead by the canyon photo because we were thinking we were going to see it but it’s actually another cascades preserves loop in a different state. Lol

Nice local trail. Great scenery.

Easy trail for the family and nice and shaded. Well marked trail. There is no canyon like the picture posted by Pamela Less

My friends and I completed this hike in May. It takes you to a beautiful overlook. You will not see much on the hike up, but since it’s a relatively short hike, the view is absolutely worth it. We went early and had the overlook to ourselves for some time.

Makes me sweat

Overall great time.
