2018 Map

We have hiked this trail twice and it is always an incredible experience. Very challenging, wear sunscreen, a hat and layer clothing, bring trekking poles and wear good hiking shoes, bring sunglasses. You will go from hot to cold and we also got rained/snowed on on the top. Big temperature changes from the bottom to top and weather changes fast. Pack a rain jacket and wear clothing that doesn't make you feel cold when you get wet. Definitely bring bear spray, we saw grizzlies and black bear and the rams are very aggressive. Try to stay in a group or take the guided ranger led hike up. Definitely a hike you will never forget! Pack plenty of food and water.

I went on a Tuesday in April and it was beyond fabulous. I got there at noon and saw 2 other people. The road up is dirt/gravel but was well maintained. There is a sign at the trailhead and the directions from AllTrails was right on point. You do have to park on the side of the road but there was very little traffic on this little back road when I went. The falls are raging with all the snow runoff. Upper Falls was my favorite but both are beautiful. The trail is also well maintained. A few muddy areas from all the melted snow but not bad at all. This little trail and waterfall exceeded my expectations! It was a fun day!

Beautiful even in the rain! Easy hike and very peaceful!

Great hike. We did this hike 14Apr. It was non-stop rain but the beauty made up for it. We decided to turn around at Middle falls because we were pretty soaked but the views were amazing. The trails were well marked and well maintained. Weather kept us from TRULY enjoying the views but we plan on going back. Only downside for us, most of the hikers on the trail seemed to be the LEAST friendly we've encountered on any of our hikes but that's not the mountains fault. Highly recommended

Falls were beautiful and trails well maintained. It was fairly crowded so get there early for both parking reasons and quieter trails.

I enjoyed this trail way more than I thought I would. I got there at 7 am and was the first one there on a Sunday morning. When I came down at 9, the parking lot was full and cars were waiting for spaces. The lookout is stunning and walking along the ridge is breathtaking. Definitely take the side trail to Elk Mountain Road Overlook when you get to the top. The view is stunning. I added pics!

it was a great hike!!!! the trail was pretty busy even on a rainy April day. It was beautiful even on a cloudy rainy day!!!

Great hike with a great view. A lot of vertical increase and decrease so be ready to go up and then go down.
I wouldn't suggest it for those who can't handle constantly going up hill or downhill.

Great shoot off trail at that top.

A bit on the muddy side but by far the best hike I’ve been on.

Aside from one really nice overlook, there are probably better trails in the area. Good for kids and elderly people as it's not very strenuous. no hiking boots required.

Amazing views! So many falls! Not super hard or crazy, depending on your conditioning, but definitely worth it!

Very clean and well kept trail! Lots of runners so be careful going around corners but all hikers and runners were very respectful!! Only went to the lower falls with my grandpa but will be returning to do the full hike!

Absolutely beautiful!

Great trail and views! Looking forward to returning on a less rainy, muddy day.

Snow storm set in just as we got started. Glad we had snowshoes!

Love love

Great hike with kids and dogs. Trail is in great shape. Great views at the top.

beautiful trails. quite the push to the upper falls. took the upper service road back down and ran into a black bear. definitely get the early for parking

Hike was nice, just wish the glacier would have made an appearance for us.

Great hike this morning only one muddy spot a couple new fallen trees.

Amazing scenery all the way up. Beginning of Trail can be confusing. The view from the top is worth every step. We passed quite a few little mountain goats.

Great trail! Not very many muddy spots and all of the paths are easy to find. This time of year everything is green and very pretty. I love being able to listen to the river and falls the whole hike. We arrived around 8 and finished a couple of hours later. Only saw one person on the way up and on our way down saw a few groups.

Cool trail, decent training if you go to Upper Falls. Upper part was a bit slippery and snowy. From car park to up and back took 3 hours.

HIked on 3/17. Packed. No snowshoes required. HIking boots/trail shoes required. Not a very pretty trail, but links up with others which is a work around for a lack of parking at Bear Lake.

We did this hike on 3/18/18 and loved it! No snow on the ground. Benches conveniently placed for resting. Most people gave up after the Lower Falls so the higher you go, the less people you see.

Beautiful over look

Such a beautiful hike! My friend and I love it!

Beautiful hike. We can hear the pleasant sound of water falls all along the hike. You’ll see lower falls, middle falls, and upper falls. We went up to middle falls and Valley overlook. There’s also a bike path all the way to upper falls.
