This trail is awesome if you can find it. The views are some of the best I’ve seen in Cheyenne Canon. The trail goes off of high drive and can be hard to find. There are 3 trails that break off to the right of high drive, it’s the middle one.

4/20/18 Steeper than I expected. There’s a period of elevation in the beginning where I got worn out, then it evens out for a bit and you get excited/ relieved and the last portion steepens with large rocks.
There is a restroom about 2/3 of the way up.
There wasn’t a parking fee when I went.
The lake wasn’t frozen. This trail would be better during summer when the trees come back to life!

Beautiful views. Save some energy for the final summit! We brought our two pups with us. Make sure to keep them close as the descend back down those rocks can be tricky! The red trail markers are a huge help. Look for those once you get to the summit beginning sign. Will definitely do this one again. Absolutely stunning.

Great trail with spectacular views of Estes Park and the Rockies! Worth every step!

Loved this hike! Seems like moderate to alittle more than moderate. I’m not sure if I would call it advanced but still challenging. I started just before sunrise and was able to watch the sunrise over Colorado Springs at the look out points that were about 10 minutes from the trailhead. Beautiful sight. After about 1.5 miles you reach the saddle before the final climb. I looked up and saw the summit of mt. muscoco and thought to myself “am I going up there!” The view from the top is amazing. My favorite trail so far!!

Kind of a crazy day today- winds reached up to 90 mph in the Denver area, and even in Estes the winds were blowing pretty bad (although not quite THAT bad). When we started off the hike, it was sunny and blue skies, with only a few clouds. By the time we got to the lake there were snow pellets slapping against our faces and we had to cover our faces as much as we could on the way down so we could see where we were going. We got pretty cold and wet, but the hike was worth it. Can’t wait to do this again in the summer!

just getting into fitness and hiking and this is an amazing trail.

The trail was, for me, steep in a lot of places. I just took it slow (I'm not accustomed to the altitude), and was rewarded with fabulous views on the way up, and a nice little lake at the top.

Love this trail, very easy and has a few cool spots to hang and have a picnic by the water

This trail was great!! The views were amazing. The only downside was the wind at the top of the mountain. My husband and I were able to set up our hammocks at the top and eat lunch though - it was wonderful! I highly recommend!

Easy, flat. You get a good look at some of the formations and Saddle Pass is a great point to stop for some pictures. Trail itself was pretty muddy in spots but nothing treacherous.

The views were AMAZING!! Well marked trail, no snow or ice or anything. The last mile is challenging and has some loose gravel but it’s worth it... plenty of room on the summit to hang out too

Hiked today 4/5/18. Great weather and well maintained trials. The lake was half froze over and lots of people enjoying the views along the way. Only have been to Estes Park / RMNP 3 times and next to dream lake hike this is my 2nd favorite so far!

Went first week of April. Had a wonderful hike. Cliffs on the north side, creek crossing, heavy forest on south side. Beautiful views. Lots of moose tracks. Trail packed down. .8 mile walk to start of trail during winter.

This was an excellent way to spend time getting exercise with amazing views in Colorado Springs! It took me an hour to reach the top, and just under an hour getting down at a steady pace. (Plus 30 min. Enjoying the views) On the way up, just shy of the summit the trail gets steeper, but you know that you're close to the top once you come across the first of nine red arrows.

Great vistas and a well maintained trail. I would caution anyone with bad knees... definitely a stair master hike!

Absolutely amazing! So didn’t wanna come home! A must see. :)

Very pretty! Easy. Enjoyed getting a photo of Pikes Peak through the window between the twins!

This trail was so beautiful, it was snowing on and off the entire way. I would love to go back when the lake isn’t frozen over. Lots of climbing with this one so prepare to be sore the next day if you’re a novice like myself.

One of our go to trails close to home, but also offers a fun challenge. Great views of Colorado Springs including downtown and great view of the canyon as well. On a clear day views east go on forever!

Lots of snow/ice/mud (where the sun hits). Don’t need snowshoes, but might help! At least until it continues to warm up. Beautiful trail and the dogs loved it! Easy hike/walk. I recommend it!

Total stairmaster of a hike! Short-ish and beautiful views of Estes.

Well, it definitely provided the best views that I have seen through my many hikes in RNMP. The trail was steep & a bit arduous than I planned for. However I was expecting a bit more than we got when we finally reached the lake. I think summer would be best with the lake not frozen!

Steep, pretty, and achievable hike. Has some nice views over Estes Park

Great trail very close the Springs! Get there early as the trailhead parking fills up quick, and it's nice to get on the trail by yourself without a ton of people. Great sweeping views of surrounding Mountains, the Springs, etc.

Overall not too difficult, but a nice challenging finish to get to the summit!

Was a wonderful hike, is very steep but doable. There were a few really slippery spots but overall a beautiful hike!

Great trail. Steep hike. Ditch the poles, spikes and snow shoes.

It’s cool to be near the main rocks, but this trail is very crowded. Try another trail to get more solitude.

Very easy pretty loop
