The trail isn't marked well but even in a light snow cover we were able to figure it out. Watch out for a few icy patches on the trail that we had to work around if you'll be on the trail in the winter. The falls were gorgeous ... parts along the cascade edges were frozen but running full force!

And we met a young porcupine near the trailhead just after the parking area! It was a bit shy ...

Nice hike , no climbing .... just a nice short hike for the day

Nice hike ... not difficult at all .. perfect if you’re looking for a short hike

Super scenic! Easy reverse hike (downhill first). Pretty sure it’s only 1 mile total.

One of those great trails you tell ur friends about. Clearly beaten trail in the winter. Poor markings. Short distance on roadway.

Beginning is very easy, after you walk on the side of the road and then go back into woods it gets harder. I would say more in the harder side than moderate. There’s climbing rocks, hanging on to rocks over a edge. Don’t recommend parents to take there kids. But for a experienced hiker, it’s a very good hike! Sometimes it’s got hard to follow the trail marks, some aren’t as easy to notice as others. But as long as you pay attention you should be fine. Very beautiful rock formations!

I really enjoyed the hike, will definitely be back. Didn't find the caves but did make it to the cliffs.

One of my favorite CT hikes. Right near my house so I get to do this one a lot.

Pretty straight forward, crowded however in summer with a lot of of bathers in the falls! Fun for kids.

The trail was not well marked, but thankfully there was enough foot traffic that it was easy to follow your way to the falls (which are beautiful, but smaller than expected).

We found this trail to be beautiful on multiple levels. The rock features are amazing, and the view from the top of the tower is worth the relatively small bit of uphill climb. There was some standing water at the base of the trail (no wonder with all the rain we've received lately) - but it was minimal and the rest of the trail was easy to traverse.

It was a nice trek while camping in copake falls

sweet lil trek

Great local hike — perfect for an early morning outing. Echoing what was already posted, it is a little rocky in parts, so prepare for that.

Great short hike from New York side. Impressive Falls.

Great when you're in the mood for something easy that has lovely views. Impossible to get lost. Do check out the penninsula trail.

great trail, excellent for the kids. it was a hot day so the water felt great.

Beautiful trail ,took my Pomeranian she loved the hike a lot to c

Worth the hype alone for the access to history let alone the views and the trail, itself.
Definitely park on the side of the highway. I originally parked in the state park and wandered but the best entrance is to drive and park.
Echoing the fun of climbing on the slanted stones on the ledge. Finding the cave was a moment. Wow! To see his fire pit. (I took two wrong turns off the trail and thought I found his home... maybe they were his air B&B spots) I love this climb.

Great views and the waterfall is breathe taking!

and I forgot to add that I saw a porcupine

i did the whole loop, I went left at Fork first half of Luke easy to moderate then after the neighborhood you take a right back on the trail and then that's where the ledges came in and it was moderate to difficult and I really enjoyed that, the only thing not so good was the bugs mosquitoes and gnats good thing I have my cutter with me if not then it would have been a total disaster so I definitely recommend his tail but bring your cutter

white man has left a lot of trash behind.
please bring trash bags

Easy 3/4 mile stroll up to the falls. Nice falls but overrun with jackasses not heeding the no swimming or diving signs. Loud and full of humanity on a warm weekend. Nice to see it but I don't think I'll be coming back. Not as spectacular as, say, Kent Falls, and just too many people. Parking is also a mess.

loved the views, liked the slight difficulty, cave was awesome, felt spirit of the leatherman

Very hard, hilly walk...very loose ground. Sad really, like it's not being maintained anymore??
Excellent views though, the tower is starting to show it's age, but still standing.
After a careful, ling walk up...kinda worth it. Just take your time.

This short walk along a stream on a hot day when many people were cooling off walking around in the water was really nice! No swimming by the actual falls (strictly enforced). Super crowded with families and lots of people and dogs.

Great for a family? Two parking sites one further away then the other. Our 7 and 9 yearold loved the hike and the falls. Room to go out on rocks which were safe for most, with the exception of very young kids or those with mobility difficulty. Well worth the trip.
