Good little steep loop for a weeknight hike. the water view is at the bottom before you climb much and the views from up top are nice but are facing the sun in the afternoon/evening.

Hardest thing I ever did. Worth it.

Great cardio is correct. It’s a strenuous hike, mostly upward. Couple points, I felt like I couldn’t go further, incline was a killer! Was able to do the difficult route and even though it was raining, enjoyed enough, I think I’ll be back! Carb up before going and bring water.

Nice, easy hike. Be cautious of mountain bikers!

Beautiful hike

Worth the climb! Amazing views from every angle! Great workout!

The boys (husky mixes) and I finally made this hike today. Gorgeous views & rock formations; I took so many photos of the boys standing on the rocks and looking off into the distance.
I average 3-5 miles daily with some elevation on run days and I really felt like this was a challenging hike; we took about 3 hours including breaks for water & photos and a long walk back to the first parking lot. Next time, I’ll park much closer to the trailhead. I couldn’t believe the number of people we encountered running this trail! I also was amazed at the number of kids doing this hike!
I brought 4 liters of water and we went through most of it- though I’m pretty sure I leaked as my pack & back were soaked when we reached the top. Thankfully, I had 2 separate bladders and the second was full for our trip down. Had just enough at the end to fill the boys’ bowls one last time and the stinkers didn’t even want it!
We started at 7:45 and managed to have much shade up until probably the last mile or so on the way down. We did not see any snakes, but the boys found a few lizards.
There were enough people that I felt safe as a solo female but, surprisingly, not near as many people I expected having read about this hike online. We did not stop for a chip photo, as we were solo. Like others, we saw some drones up at the top and heard an occasional speaker.
We didn’t come across any aggressive or unleashed dogs.
We found people we encountered to be polite, if not downright friendly. The boys got a few pets & ear scratches from new friends. We tried really hard to give way in narrow spots and others did the same.
We’ll definitely be back.

Amazing trail and great workout!

Hiked clockwise, uphill starts right away and then you're at the top. Looping around on the descent you get ups and downs. Bring water; hiking poles if your knees talk to you. Lots of families, so it's not crazy hard. But I bet those kids sleep well tonight!

Beautiful trail! Super easy! We go when we want to get a quick easy hike in before starting a super busy day. There is the river that is just gorgeous and there are places off to the side for a quick snack break. Love this trail!

Great strenuous hike! The trail was clean but there is dog poop everywhere! We hiked the trail with 3 kids and a baby in a hiking backpack. We hiked counter clockwise which is the hardest way to hike this trail. We did all 4.2 miles! It was super hard and I love hiking! The kids were exhausted but excited because they felt accomplished and said they wanted to do it again next weekend! The view of the pacific wasn’t what I thought it was going to be. You only see the horizon. The other views are totally worth it! Totally recommend this trail!

good hike. it's more like moderate instead of hard.

I would wear more sturdy shoes as the rocks were taxing AND the trail was beautiful. provided for a great work out! sooo quiet for the most part. would have liked more written on trail markers than"stay on trail".

Excellent workout!...
Afraid of snakes but worth the hike. I will come back with friends, perfect place to meditate and relax.
This is where I realize that I must workout harder to be in shape " GOOD HEALTH ".
Enjoy life!......

Great location and fun hike.

The trails here are pretty easy, it does get a little confusing at times because some areas aren’t marked. It’s also a funny sunny hike, so make sure you wear sunscreen.
The one thing that is very annoying are the screaming kids, people leave them at home!

Good trail & perfect Apring temps yesterday. We did see a rattles Abe crossing the trail, so keep an eye out.

Good trail; perfect Spring temps yesterday. We did see a rattle snake crossing the trail, so keep an eye out.

Needed to wait in line for a pic on the rock

Awesome cardio.

Great trail run for uphill and downhill. Approx 2 hrs if you bypass the line up top to take a photo.

Beautiful trail! Just watch out for the Poison Oak...there is a lot of it.

Beautiful hike. Not well marked.

It’s a great hike but easy to get off if the main trail onto an off shoot trail. Had to keep checking to stay on. The volcano is pretty cool.

I’m saying this trail is hard
The trail terrain has ruts
You can semi step in
But the steep hill and hard ground with
Slippery loose fine gravel
Causes boots to slide

Makes it “not moderate “
I’m not sure where to go up at
I’m willing to try it again

good hiking but the trail signs are a bit lacking, still great fun!

A good workout for the day. The views are great but teenagers ruin it with loud music all the way to the top. Even at the top there was a small crowd (50+) waiting in line to climb on the rock. Still, the battle for whose loud music to overcome the other. 10am on top was not early enough.

So beautiful I will going again very soon

Great hike. Really enjoyed these steeper climb toward the end. Lots dogs and lots of people. Recommend if you don’t mind a lot of traffic.

One of my favorite local hikes ❤️ bring lots of water and sunscreen
