We went on a Sunday and were surprised at how quiet it was. While we did see others doing the trail it isn't as hectic as other trails in the area. Spikes are recommended as there was a layer of ice under the snow. Views are gorgeous all the way up.

A nice quick loop that can be done in 2 hours or less and close to Calgary. There is a view point and the trail is doable in the winter and shoulder season if you have micro spikes or snow shoes. Very popular area

Great views at the top for such an easy hike! However, it is quite a long trip to take the Jewell pass on the way down. The map on the trail is a bit deceiving. If you’re looking for a shorter hike, I would go back down the same way. Really pretty walking along the lake though!

Love this hike I've been 4 times now and taken the kids they do really well. Spectacular views and such a beautiful little town. One of my absolute favs

This is a great trail for in summer, easy for my 4 year old to keep up pretty neat waterfall at the end. Short trip though but nice for a picnic

Great and easy little hike with stunning views. Recommend microspikes during this time of year.

Nice little trail. Good for beginner hikers. Did this in apr/18 snow was pretty slushy and packed spikes and poles are your best friend. Just be mindful at the loop I found some rather fresh and big grizzly tracks. Mom and cub it looked like.

A must see, short and sweet.

Some icy spots, some muddy spots, some dry spots. Overall enjoyable hike with intervals between steep and level trail. Took 2 hours to casually stroll and stop to enjoy views.

Enjoyable and Beautiful hike!!

We did this to cap the day after other longer hikes, and finished with dinner around the lake. Good spot for that, but don't go out of your way to do this hike only considering the amazing things around. It's nice and easy and flat, so relaxing

It's a great hike, don't get me wrong. But considering the amazing ones around, I give that only 4 stars. The best is to find a way to add it to something else. We did The little and big beehive, Lake agnes, and then this trail through highline trail. Big day, filled with amazing views

a little difficult with snow on the ground, but still fun fir the kiddos and beautiful. also, unless we missed it, we couldn't find the loop and had to turn around on the 3rd or 4th bridge. also, to note, there is no telus mobile service. we will definitely go back and try again.

Short walk. Falls are ok.

Great hike for today, but it was really icy, so take cleats with you!

Nice hike that was doable in the winter conditions early April. Some deep patches of snow, Wabasso lake was still totally frozen April 8, walked out to the island.

The girlfriend and I snowshoed this trail and found it to be very enjoyable. The trail up until Rawson Lake was heavily packed and easy to follow. However at the lake the trail disappeared completely and it looked like everyone hit the lake and turned back. We tried to continue on but, with so much snow fall, breaking fresh trail became tiring after another kilometer so we settled for reaching the far side of the lake, had lunch, and trekked back out. Good trail, only saw one other couple. We plan on going in the summer.

Nice trail! Did with a doggo who also enjoyed it. No signs for Boom lake if you’re coming from Radium way, look out for the turning! Did with cleats on but would probably be fine without. Nice opening at the end where the snowy frozen lake is, would be pretty sweet in the summertime!

Snow packed trails are in good condition. Short muddy sections are getting a little greasy/slippery.

Great little hike for after work

March 25/18
• We didn't power through this, lunch included it only took us 2HRS
• We went counterclockwise, which we would do that way again as the incline is a little more gradual and you get the views on the way back
• Still plenty of snow, a little icy but completely doable with winter boots

Hiked this trail today with my 11mo in a back pack.
Wore good hiking boots and had poles because I anticipated some icy spots (which there were but nothing too concerning). There has been some fresh snow lately so that provided good grip.
Happy Hiking

Great hike, easy to the top of Barrier Lake Look out. Recommend snow shoes from top of Barrier lake to jewel pass and back to the parking lot

I did this one late in my hiking career, and expected a pretty boring, easy, and crowded hike.
Mostly correct. There are however still a few views that are alright and the ponds are actually pretty cool.
The green and reflection I guess, but still so many people layin all around them.
Once is enough

Beautiful!!! But quite hard considering I’m out of shape & it’s up up up the whole way to the lake!!!! Worth it though!!!!

Just do it!!
