We went on the 1st Sunday of the new year. We only hiked to Lindeman. It was a lot easier than I expected. It was trying to snow when we got there in the parking lot. By the time we reached Lindeman Lake it was starting to snow lots more!! The trees cover most of the trails so it made coming back down not so snowy on the pathway. Breathtaking scenery. We will be doing Greendrop in the bear future.

Awesome winter hike to get your heart rate up. Bring micro spikes!

Great trail to do when the Grind is closed for the winter.

Today December 7, we started from parking lot at 9 am. We reached Lindeman in 45 minuted. The trail was moderately sloped and well maintained. But from Lindeman to Greendrop Trail was pretty challenging, not because it was steep, but because almost two third of the trail you have to walk is on uneven rocks. You have balance on rocks and find your way between red dots and you cant go fast. But it was worth going there. We reached Greendrop at 12:40, ate lunch and took 20 minuets break. It was so cold that my water bottle got frozen in few minutes. We returned to our car at 4:10 pm and it was already getting dark. It was Friday, we didn’t see any other hiker between Lindeman and Greendrop. Total two way distance is 12 km.

One of my favourite hikes in Vancouver. Still accessible as of the 2nd December.

First 1.7km is a slog with very steep sections (about 550m elevation). This also makes for a tricky, technical descent which probably deserves its hard rating.

Second half is a nice amble with slight incline. Views are out of this world.

Took aprox 2 hours with my 6 year old son. Loved it. Its challenging enough and definitely more interesting than the grouse grind, which is mostly stairs and more crowded. I found it to be very well marked. It is not a hike for novice hikers though or small kids who are not used to hiking. Overall had a great experience and will be doing again with running on way down next time!

I hate this trail with the fire of a thousand suns. The gondola was closed for seasonal work so I went up Grouse and hiked back down BCMC. It is 2 hours of poor trail marking, roots, rocks, and mud. I am giving it 2 stars as perhaps going up it is less mind-numbing.

Really challenging but worth it. Take water with you and good hiking shoes.

Yes, it is a beautiful hike but there is a reason north shore search and rescue get a LOT of calls. The last 1.9km is not a hike but rather is mkre like a rock climb. Fun going up but nit so fun or safe coming down.

A fantastic morning hike. Yes, some steep uphill to start but well worth it! Amazing fall weather right now for it. Totally recommended.

The hike up to Lindeman Lake is worth every second. The lake is stunning!

I found it more challenging than the grouse grind even though it’s not as steep. There are more rocks and roots that require balance as compared to the grouse grind with mostly stairs. Parts of the BCMC trail are fairly worn out. Much less crowded than the Grind and more enjoyable .

Fantastic views at top. Some technical and vertical parts, so definitely for a more seasoned hiker. Make sure you time your return during daylight, especially this time of year when the sunsets early. Hike is 4 to 5 hours depending on your ability. This is NOT including a snack/rest at the top so factor that in. Great mountain!

Even though it was misty/rainy the entire trek up, I think the mist made it quite beautiful.
I knew it was going to be a tough go, as I'd read lots of reviews on it.
I am a novice hiker, and while it wasn't a recommended hike for someone like me, I decided to try it anyways. Time wise, I looked at the "average" and estimated double for me. Looking at the elevation gain and distance, I knew I'd need more time, but I was bound and determined to do it. Had I not gotten a little lost near the top and wasted time looking around, I would have been under what I estimated, but as it turned out I was a bit over. For my first kick at it, it wasnt too bad.
I'll be making it an annual hike - will go out to Vancouver and will be a bit more prepared, physically, each time.

Easy with a pretty view, great for the family! Pretty easy hike, good views. Very touristy!

Short hike through woods overlooking the river to beautiful waterfall! There are also a couple of dirt paths down to the riverside along the trail to the falls.

A short and easy hike...nice to stop by when you're passing but nothing to plan to go to. But maybe good for families and kids.

Sweet short hike with beautiful waterfall at the end. Would definitely recommend it for families or as a short stop when you drive by.

Loved the hike to Lindeman but got tired of the rocks pretty quickly on route to Greendrop. Unfortunately we went on a wet day which made trekking the rocks a slippery and slow process. Will do again but on a dry summer day.

Fantastic trail. Not recommended for novices runners/hikers.

Beautiful lake at the end, expect some stair climbing on rocks instead of stairs. Great hike, loved it.

Fantastic trail with glacial caves, alpine meadows, incredible vistas. Fairly difficult ascent. Plan on 4 hours up and 1.5 down. Bring lunch! You will need the fuel.

Bring Lunch! Beautiful trail, captivating the whole way. The lake and glacier were such an amazing prize to reach.

Hiked down after coming up the Grind. It is so beautiful and challenging in a fun way, requiring a level of concentration. It’s much less crowded than the Grind. Looking forward to going up another time!

The look out along the way is a really nice way to have a break, grab a drink and stretch a bit. It’s a little bit like Grouse Grind but closer to nature rather than man made. The view when you get up top is very nice.
