Great training or exercise hike. It does get busy, but the more the merrier. The view of Tucson from the top is amazing.

Easy and not so long Trail
Beautiful day on december
Superb trees and cristal water

Pleasant hike off the main road that runs through Catalina State Park. There is an immediate elevations change via man made steps... Beautiful views... variety of cactus . .

elivation gain is more high-moderate in my opinion, but the pay out at the end of the trail is so worth it!! make sure to climb down to the left to see majority of the pools, missed them the first time I did the hike!

one of my favorites! never disappoints. water makes it such a gorgeous trail. good for summer (if appropriately prepared with water, hat, and sunscreen!!) or winter.

Quick, but steep- a good workout you can do in about an hour or so. I always go at night for the (almost!) 360 city lights scenery. Around this time of year (early winter, late fall) there’s a lot of people around 5-7 pm even though it’ll be pitch dark.

went to go hike based off descriptions on here however you do need to get a permit in advance, ranger said sometimes several weeks in advance especially for weekends. better luck next time I guess.

This is an awesome trail with great views. Not a hard trail not easy either.. the low rating is due to the excessive flow of people heading to the falls!! A friend wanted to see the falls so went back with her but started at 6:30am and no one was there when we got there!!!

I don't know if I misread the mile marks but for us it was longer than 9 miles and we didn't reach the end. We stopped at 4.5 miles as it was getting darker and turned back. I was expecting the trail end at 3.8 miles based on the total of 7.9 miles. Nonetheless, it was a beautiful hike. It was like walking through a slightly elevated landscape garden. I just love the saguaros!

Did this hike with family while visiting my sister the day before Thanksgiving. There was not as much water flowing at the falls this year compared to last year when we did this hike, but it’s still beautiful. A few water crossings, but we didn’t even get our feet wet this year.

Great hike a few weeks back. Weather was in the low 70’s and it took us about 4.5 hours there and back with a long break for lunch at the pools. Great views from about the half way point onward!

Hiked it before Thanksgiving. Was a great hike and loved the falls. I highly recommend this trail

best trail run ever!

Really stunning trail that follows the creek up the canyon. Wonderful view points as it curves up the head of the canyon. Great picnic spot on the smooth water washed rocks at the midpoint of the falls at the top. Easy hike. Walking poles nice to have at the top.

Great hike. Some of the trail is “runnable” but a lot of it isn’t - well not for mere mortals like me anyway!

Around this time of the year there isn’t a high amount of water, but still enough that it makes it worth coming by. The pools are great to relax by, and some of the leaves are changing just a slight amount for the desert, so it’s very beautiful. We went for a pre-sunset hike, and it was gorgeous. Lots of climbing over rocks, so I recommend going only if you’re comfortable with that. We took a dog, but weren’t able to make it all the way to the 80 foot fall with him, so something to think about before going.

Awesome hike. Tough at times but not too bad. Great views.

Beautiful

Fairly easy trail (if you're good on distance) and enjoyable hike with stunning destination. For those who wish to be more challenged, plenty of opportunities to navigate up the falls (though use caution, particularly when wet), while the rest of your party relaxes down below.

Insanely beautiful views for such a short hike. Moderate bouldering, would not recommend bringing dogs. Recommended early morning on a week day to avoid local traffic.

Solid hike. Wanted to get a decent workout with a great view and that's what I got. I really enjoyed climbing over rocks and creating my own paths, if that's not your thing that's okay! No need to do the full 'trail', just hang out at the bottom and enjoy the water, the rocks, and the sunset like I did.

Amazing views. For people with kids - the first half of the paved trail is a little rough for strollers and a few steep spots are really tough pushing a stroller. Otherwise it’s a great hike!

Love this trail because it alternates between flat and easy to rocky and difficult. Rather than the same terrain, you get a variety.

not a good trail for just starting after long time no hike (learned the hard way), but its awesome training for elevation gain!!! also the views are amazing

Nice quick hike if you just want to sit by a pool or do some light bouldering. Not a lot of trail options, but a good summer spot or place to take folks from out of town.

This trail has a variety of interesting vistas and interweaves along the creek bed, which when water levels are on the higher side, creates some fun little creek crossings. The pay off on this hike comes when you reach 7 falls (provided there is water at the falls). The falls are not visually impressive, but make a very chill setting. This is a great hike for hikers of a range of skill levels.

Great little hike, just went down to the water and back. If you only have a short time for a quick hike, this one has some beautiful scenery and water to play in.

Hot but beautiful hike. The area is so green because of the recent rains. And the pools were running and full and refreshing.
