love this hike

I guess it was alright? wouldn't mind going again.

Great hike After work!!

This is a nice hike but there sure was a lot of people hiking that day!!

Really enjoyed this trail. Beautiful views and kid friendly.

We did the hike going clockwise, so the trip up was nice and steady while the trip down was treacherous, but engaging and worth the awesome views.

Whichever way you go, just heed the warning that it's not for the faint of heart. Trekking poles recommended if you go the way we did, and prepare to go at a crawl for the final mile or so down.

Very steep the first 1/3 but a nice shorter hike. Bring a stroller for younger kids.

Nice hike and geat views of mountains.

Dog friendly! Has a moderate incline so I felt like I got a good workout. There were some nice views from the top of the surrounding neighborhoods.

Great hike going through west trail, and east trail. Also, good for jogging, and running.

Awesome views of the ocean and Catalina, good workout.

Such an awesome climb to the Baldy summit today. The views were incredible. Crampons AND Poles are a MUST and that is the minimum. I would’ve felt safer with an ice axe. The temperature was freezing and my hydration pack froze while I was climbing the backbone. Kind of annoying, but that’s why I came hydrated.
I took the fire road route up to the Baldy Notch which lead to the Devils Backbone and up to the summit. I got lost on the way down when the fog set in HEAVILY. I ended up taking a wrong turn and ended up on Register Ridge which was SKETCHY (I loved that).
Come prepared, have patients, and be safe.

Best view of LA

Probably better in summer. Cold and windy near the ski lift. Bar was closed. Took about 30 minutes hiking down to thaw my face and hands. Pretty views and steady incline. Watch for ice

Phone read 5.0m in 1:17:49 with 1247ft of elevation gain. Stopped recording just shy of the parking lot on return for sake of 5 mile even hike. Steep section up would be considered a scramble if there were anything to grab on to (there isn’t), would have been slick coming down that direction. Essentially all the elevation gain is within the first 1.5m. Not for the faint of heart. The rest of the trail is simply fire road.

Loved it take enough water in the summer, hat and food!

Very short and easy, and up to your choice to do dirt path back and forth, or a combo of dirt path + paved road. The only “hard part” was the big steps (giant wood slats insert into the dirt), it was kind of steep but if you take your time it would be fine, and that part was short anyway.

Many people and a lot of dogs of all kinds came with their master/walker. The dog show was the highlight and it’s rather entertaining than working out.

This is a great hike to challenge yourself! It has a great scenery and a bar with food near the lift. I took my walking sticks because coming down is hard and rocks and dirt slide. I really enjoyed this hike! Bring lots of water and it’s cold at the top so be prepared!

This is my favorite after work hike! I don't usually make it to the Nike missile site before the sun goes down, but I usually get within a half mile. I hike the ridgeline in and take the fire road out. Great exercise. Amazing place to be at sunset.

Pretty views of the city, but extremely dry most of the year

I'm gonna disagree with whoever wrote the trail description. Wearing road running shoes will not give you the traction you need on the steeper sections. Trail surface is heavily compacted from heavy usage. My road running shoes were not giving me enough traction. Trail running shoes or light hikers will do a lot better. I got lucky and found an open parking space at the upper end of Fuller Ave. Made my day

One of the best hikes. This hike actually is not really hard as people say. I took my three older sons with me (13,10, 10) and they completed it with no issues. Mind you they have been backpacking since age 2.

We had a great time! Snow at that time was perfect.

A good morning workout!

Even during a weekday this can be a very busy trail. Its wide and well maintained and you can hear snippets of conversions from hikers concerning various aspects of the Hollywood scene.

My go to trail. Perfect easy to moderate 3 mile loop. Water stop half way through. Nice bathrooms now at the start and a big free parking lot though it sometimes gets full and you have to park on Laurel Canyon. Beautiful views of the Valley and the canyon. I love it! Have hiked this at least 100 times in the past few years.

not my favorite very busy. not a huge fan of walking on streets.

too many people.

fun, finally gets steep towards the top.

The Mulholland side of this hike is my favourite! I love being able to see the ocean from the top :)
