Great hike! I didn't do the entire loop though. I took the Canyon Trail and cut across on the Winter Trail and then took the Rim Trail back. (to do the 7 mile loop, you do the Canyon and Rim trails). The way I did it was a 5 mile loop and I saw 8 of the 10 waterfalls. So even if you cut it short, you'll still see them!

I went in November and the fog hung in the air even into the afternoon, making for awesome pictures and a more somber/peaceful experience. Go on a weekday to avoid crowds, and start in the morning if you can. In the fall, definitely bring warm clothes and hats, mittens, etc!

The trail is rated as moderate, but with the slight elevation gain (other online sources say only 800 feet), I'd rate it as easy. There are steep sections, especially one place going down to Lower South Falls, but there are stairs and handrails here.

Parking is $2.00 for an all day pass. Totally worth it!

I loved this hike and recommend it to families with slightly older kids. As well as anyone who likes to hike but isn't looking to overexert themselves.

Easy, great views without much effort. It is a busy spot.

I loved this hike! We looked at both falls. Super fun to be able to walk behind both and see the backside of water. There was frost, so it was a little slippery in areas, but manageable.

Switchback incline was tough. But a break here and there and we were fine. Bathrooms were good. Cafe was perfect as we were cold and hungry.

Beautiful!!

Absolutely breathtaking views and amazing perspective of the falls. A lot of falls have walkways behind the falls. Definitely one of my favorite hikes of all time!

I am not from this area. I along with several other cars pulled over and parked in front of the gate right off the highway and waited for the gate to open. I read online and it says that it works off sensors and opens as several cars leave. After seeing about 20 cars leave and it never opened I got frustrated and decided to try my luck by going up the highway and turning around and entering from the other side. There is no gate on the other side. You go straight in. Beautiful waterfall.

Absolutely beautiful. I went with my husband & daughter in the summer. Be sure to take plenty of water. I'm going again with a friend in October. should be pretty in Fall. Highly recommend it.

Very crowded!

Difficult road to travers to the actual trail head unless you have an all wheel drive vehicle. We walked the road to the TH and the trail itself is not long but steep and appearing not formerly maintained. The hike is sleek with rock and covered in fallen leaves making it difficult to traverse in many areas. The pay off is well worth the jaunt with a beautiful falls. The drive to this falls is also splendid.

Beautiful hike, enjoyed the falls very invigorating

Nice loop hike with manageable elevation gain. We started at the South Falls trailhead and went counterclockwise, which I would recommend. The first part of the Rim Trail runs next to the road, so we were glad to get that out of the way first.
We didn’t know about the trail running event this weekend, which meant a full parking lot and lots of muddy, cold people. We were expecting a lot of other people, but not that many. We almost turned around, but are glad we didn’t. Fortunately most of the runners had finished by the time we hit the trail.
It was a cloudy day, but the falls are still amazing.

Great hike you can do in different loops depending on how much time and effort you can make. 1 mile, 2.6 miles, 5 miles, etc. we did the 2.6 mile loop and it was beautiful. We saw 2 falls

Really love this hike, so many fantastic views and when you make it to the lake it really is a mountaintop experience. We were so glad to be able to have the lake to ourselves. There is such fantastic energy up there. We experienced great stillness and awe. Late September, early October is a fantastic time to go. Wear a lightly insulated jacket and the weather is perfect. We encountered maybe 6 people in the 6 hrs we were on the trail. (We took our time, spent a good amount of time at the top and also stopped to take a lot of photos along the way.) it’s true, it’s not s very hard hike, just long. The beginning part is steep but it’s not bad knowing that it doesn’t last very long... it did hurt a bit on the way back though! We didn’t see goats, sheep, bears, or moose, (even with our binoculars out every other clearing!) but we did encounter two friendly deer and a small flock of female grouse. Since there was no one else on the trail most of the time, we clapped our hands before we went around any of the sharp turns in the wooded areas. Nearby trails were closed due to bear activity. Take your bear spray and keep a keen eye out in this area while you are enjoying the views!

Stop it with this trail!! So good!! The views and landscape were unlike anything we had ever seen, really great views of the two medicine lakes and Rising Wolf. No goats, but had a few cute interactions with the chipmunks! It is a workout but well worth it. Also love how the views aren’t just at the top. There were really strong winds up at the summit area- could lean backward against it without falling over. Bring good protein (& bear spray)! We hope to get back to this trail again one day! Hiking in October is awesome! Weather is perfect for these types of trails and there were only one other group on the entire trail

Beautiful. May take longer than you think to complete the hike. Route-finding can be difficult in the boulder section and may not be appropriate for children, older folks, or disabled. A stunning annual run for us with access to the Middle/Grand saddle.

One of the most beautiful sights to see in Oregon.

Gotta be the most gorgeous day hike ever. So glad I did it when I was a bit younger and more in shape.

Awesome day 10/28/28....a bit of rain filled the streams and falls were amazing.

Absolutely gorgeous! made it to the white locked fence easily thanks to the directions of *always staying to the left and down hill * directions once turn off of Crooked Finger Rd. Took second trail as stated below with Abbey Foundation sign and it was a quick hike in staying left once we hit the river.
Definitely going back once every season this next year !

Completed 10-8-18
Went in the dark, still a fun hike

This isn’t really a hike. Yes there’s a trail but all the ones people are talking about aren’t official trails and have resulted in multiple deaths over the years as they aren’t maintained/are very worn away. The falls are beautiful and worth driving to/checking out...but don’t expect a hike and realize if you hike down to the water or behind the falls that you are off trail. This area really needs more rangers/officials to stop all the illegal activity.

Possibly my favorite of all the lakes in Glacier. The hike isn't particularly hard, and offers great views throughout including a waterfall beside the trail. Iceberg Lake itself is beautiful, nestled under stadium like cliffs.

A very long day hike, but completely worth it. It's actually not too difficult, with relatively minimal elevation gain. The hike itself takes you through dense forest before following the creek up to Cracker Lake. Aside from the spectacular mountain range backdrop, what's really striking is the white-blue color of the lake's water.

I'd suggest going to any of the other waterfalls in the area.

This is extremely packed with tourists, and the top of the trail is closed due to fire damage.

Great fall color in the forest. I did it counter clockwise so it was an easy walk with less crowds.

Breathtaking views! Pretty crowded, especially the first few waterfalls (lots of people stopping for photos), but the farther you go, the less people there are. You can walk behind a couple of the waterfalls, and those areas usually have large puddles of water and can be pretty muddy so heads up! I highly recommend this hike, it's drop-dead gorgeous!

Awesome hike, I’ve hiked it three times. Amazing falls.

Did this hike on Friday morning. Got there 10 minutes before 8am right when they opened the gate. Glad I got there early as by the time I finished the loop it was there was a lot of people going in. Beautiful hike!

Beautiful views!
