I loved this day hike it. I did it on 10/15/18. Beautiful fall colors. I will do this day hike again.

This is a nice hike, be sure to get a pass online before you show up! There are rangers along the hike that will be asking. The fall colors were pretty. It was a bit cloudy when I went so I was unable to see the mountain but overall a decent hike - not crowded.

nice today. the meadows are so but more beautiful in the spring and summer. NC did a controlled burn a few weeks ago so it's a little chard.

Great hike, perfectly clear day so the views were fantastic. I did the 2 mile upper hike so it was easy

Great views. I did this with my dog, easy incline here and there. I completed this hike in about 2.5 hours. I would totally go again in a heart beat. I loved all the views and there was a light of elk, and deer signs. I hiked it when it was opening season for elk and all the hunters were very friendly. I only ran into a few hunters on the trails. They are very aware of their surroundings.

wonderful trail, wish we budgeted more time to explore more at the top, it really is one of those hikes that starts off pretty mellow and then provides more and more amazing sights as you near the end

Backpacked in at night with a group of Scouts. Trail well defined and easy to negotiate with headlamps. Fairly busy at the lake but the weather was ideal for October. No problems finding camping spots for 6 adults and 12 scouts even by headlamps. Beautiful location with access to water for filtering. Highly recommended.

I hiked this last Sunday Oct 14th. Quite a few down trees on the trail as the wind was really howling. I agree with all the previous reports, beautiful hike with an easy to follow trail which for the most part was soft dirt. I downloaded the GPX before hand and threw it into a GPS. The loop is 7.32 miles complete. Just an FYI.

Not too hard of a hike. Pretty view of Mt. Jefferson.

Very beautiful with fall colors. Falls were alittle weak compared to other times visited, yet just as beautiful and worth the drive!!

This hike was pretty crowded on an October day. It starts out as paved, but turns into a rocky and dirt trail shortly into the start. It can be pretty slippery at times. It’s very beautiful and you get to go behind waterfalls.

The view from the top is a 5 star. Three fingered Jack is spectacular. Lovely view of Jefferson with lakes and Washington at an interesting angle. Starts with a dense forest of deciduous trees and color changing shrubs and ends with alpine meadows. 2 miles in between are a blowdown corridor that is a hassle to navigate. Worth it for the view. Wear bright colors in the fall as hunters were also on trail.

Great hike

Such a great trail with lots of views. October is a lovely time to go with foliage changing color and fireweed in its last fuzzy stage blowing in the wind. Burn area is beautiful and woodland forest surprisingly dense. Closer to 7 miles for loop.

Quite easy. lovely scenery. very busy on a Sunday around noon.

Went during the week and there were still a fair amount of people on the trail in the morning, but didn’t feel overcrowded. Winter Falls is currently dry and Double Falls is barely a trickle. Overall beautiful fall colors and scenery.

A great hike with amazing views. It was a bit cloudy but when it cleared it was worth the hike!

simply lovely! just because it's a short hike, doesn't mean it's not worth it.

This is a nice short hike up to a magnificent viewpoint of the surrounding cascades. I intended to jog the entire way up but was hit hard by the 4000 ft elevation starting point and ended up walking rather than running about a quarter of the way. I brought my dog with me and due to the steep terrain she had to stay on leash. The decent isn't too technical, but due to the narrow singletrack our speed was slower than I expected. Be careful. Watch your step. Keep your dog on leash and enjoy the amazing views at the refurbished lookout at the summit. FYI. I would have given this trail 5 stars had it been a little bit longer. I didn't want the trail to end.

Awesome hike, forest is green and luscious. Hike was good, and weather was perfect. no rain, mud or snow.(even had first time hikers with us and everyone made it up and down) fall was an incredible sight. 100% must see. Falls flowing. We saw folks with dogs, children and bikes.

Really a pleasantly easy hike. Fairly flat. Well maintained. Beautiful fall foliage. We did not see any one during our hike. Half the trail is through green forestland and half through an older wildfire zone. Very diverse landscape and stunning Mountain and Meadow views. Great fun with our dogs too

Doing controlled burn tomorrow so trail is filled with firemen and hoses

Such a beautiful hike. I live close by, so I did it in a few sections first. Took my sisters with me once. Then took my husband and we did the full loop last Sunday. He had not been there before. He loved it too! Lots of people later in the day, but most are very friendly.

Great hike on a highly used trail. Met 1 guy coming down as I was going up. Got to the top and had it all to myself for quite some time.
Very tricky and rocky path to ascend and descend from the top.
Ran into 5 other couples going up as I was going down.
Was on this hike to look for Christmas tree ornaments placed by the ranger district. Struck out. No Sunflower on this hike.

This trail is an instant favorite. It is so remote. Feels like you are driving on backroads forever to get there, but the gravel road is good. Stunning in fall. Not a soul on the trail.

Take the loop left (glacier trail first) for awesome views of he mountains. Otherwise you hike down with them at your back. Awesome trail not to steep but a steady hill up/down.

Absolutely beautiful. Did an overnight hike - went south on the PCT and camped at Eileen Lake. First day on the Obsidian Trail featured bright blue skies and gorgeous sun. The next day was classic NW fog, mist, and moody skies. It was like an entirely different trail. Both days were stunning. Pretty easy hike - no major climbs! Spooky burn areas - very surreal!

awesome. we snowshoed, saw cougar prints

Love it.
