Es muy lindo y quiero regresar ahí pero alíen save si ya está abierto
nice trail, there's lots of snow and ice on the trail and at the top it was all snow. I definitely wouldn't recommend it without micro spikes. at the the top snow shoes would make it easier to travel but not required at all unless you travel further out on the ridge.
Great trail as always; this time of year you’ll want micro spikes once you’re about two miles up. Just a bit icy and a good bit of snow as you near the top. Gators would of been nice as well but if you have micro spikes you’ll survive just fine.
A conquering experience. Little under prepared which made the hike less pleasant than it could have been but non the less exciting. Would highly recommend shoe spikes, if not at LEAST bring poles. The last bit of the trail is quite steep and covered with a couple feet of snow. At the top there was unfortunately not a whole lot of a view due to fog but I can assume the views without the fog would’ve been amazing. Wanna come back when there are clear skies and no snow.
Had a beautiful day. Had the ridge all to ourselves. A few people coming down as we went up. Spikes were helpful!
Trees still down at the end. Beautiful trail
Nice trail.
Great trail, just a little muddy!
Went on a Friday (2/26) and only ran into a handful of people! There are potholes on the road right before the trailhead but certainly passable in any vehicle. It was sunny and clear out, and only ran into the shortest section of slushy snow right before Five Mile Camp but definitely didn’t need micro spikes. Also muddy in some sections with a few little creek crossings but our short corgi pups did great with all the crossings if that gives you a good frame of reference! We did this as a day hike to Five Mile Camp but can’t wait to come back and do this as an overnight trip soon! The bright blue river and few little mountain views on this trail are gorgeous and I personally think it’s worth going down towards the river at Five Mile for a lunch/snack break. As a note: we clocked in at 11.8 miles total which included going all the way down to Five Mile Camp.
This trail has everything you’d want in a hike
Muddy at the start but otherwise a beautiful and fun Sunday morning.
Slushy and slow-going. The falls were very cool. Poles and spikes helped.
Parking lot was empty when I pulled in at 730 am. No tp in sanican. Weather forecast was wrong, no rain, so that was nice. We stayed to the right at most of the splits until we got to the loop, then we went left. We used microspikes from just below horse camp up to the summit. Snowshoes were not needed and actually wouldn't have worked real well. There were several places where there was water flowing that we had to cross and some where the snow just wasn't deep at all. The bugs were out, but not super annoying. Overall a good day.
Awesome trail. Was planning to do the Cascade Lake loop and then head over to this, but was excited to see that it connected directly once we were out there. Trail system was very well maintained, and well-marked with signs so little chance of getting lost. Great waterfall payoff.
Good winter hike. Snow gets deeper towards the top. Bring poles and spikes.
Waterfall was right off of the road and the trail was not clearly marked. Gave it 3 stars for the waterfall itself but overall underwhelming
Quite a nice trail. Decent amount of mud. The lake is an absolutely beautiful color, probably my favorite part
Good short trail. Road to the trail head is in good condition. Climbing down to the base of the falls or to the other side of the river was easier than I expected!
Pretty trail, very muddy the first portion. Bring waterproof hiking shoes. Moderately trafficked.
Super muddy, but suck a great view near the end.
Easy hike, no snow, no mud, only one other person when we arrived. Road to the trail head is 100% paved too!
