Was an amazing hike. Waterfalls, clear lake, and blue pool all in a day! What more can you ask for. All in all not very hard, but pretty long. Would recommend.

Good family hike (youngest is 10) with a great payoff at the end. Only reason not 5 stars is that the trail had large sections of mud throughout. Not a big deal but it forced us to look down at our feet and not at the spectacular surroundings.

Did this hike on a whim. It was pouring rain and slippery on the rocks, but it was nice because everyone else was headed back. When I got to the pool, it literally took my breath away. This was a favorite and the pictures just don't do justice. The entire trail was so peaceful, lush and green- even without the pool it is worth it!

Beautiful and lush bright green forests. Love the porous lava looking rocks along the trails and the blue pool is gorgeous! Wear hiking boots!! Stepping on a lot of rocks and unleveled ground, as well as very muddy in the spring.

Went all the way there and saw the parking lot with about 30 cars, stopped and turned right around. Not my kind of hiking I prefer only a couple people on the trail not a crowded zoo. Tuned around and hiked henline mountain trail instead. Much better

Nice area but was already kind of busy. I can only imagine how it is in summer...

Easy, pretty hike. Beautiful Oregon countryside and majestically blue pool at the end.

To get to the trail, instead of following the google directions, coming off the highway take a left at the fork. Just keep going straight and turn left up the hill at the closed gate. Follow the road straight and you will get to the trail head. This hike is completely worth it. I hope to go back when it is a bit clearer to get a better view of the mountains.

The only reason I gave it four stars was due to getting to the trail head. If you love to rough up your vehicle then by all means travel the last 5 miles up there early spring with pot holes the size of a car. BUT! Totally worth it. The pools and streams where beautiful and still recommend the hike

Great hike! Went last year, and plan on going again soon. Good hike to take kids, we even took one of those big wheeled child stroller’s. Much is a road. Ppl in the town are pretty friendly and it’s interesting to see how their energy set up runs.

One of my favorite short hikes. The falls and pool are beauriful. Be sure to go when the runoff is at its peak.

Easy hike, and very beautiful. Went yesterday and got there at 6am, only saw a small group of people as we got back to our car. I recommend going early to beat the crowd. Quite a bit of snow still on the ground, but I managed to go through easily with a pair of nikes.

The water here is the prettiest blue to turquoise.

Couldn’t get my sportwagen through the snow today unfortunately but looks like a beautiful area! Going to try again in a month or so

Beautiful, short hike over packed snow. Family friendly and definitely worth it. Expect snow until mid March.

Awesome hike. Soft on your feet and beautiful trees. The view of the pool is incredible from above. Really cold water. Heavy trafficked trail

Such a great hike! So many beautiful pools to stop at. Also a good place to go backpacking. I’ve been twice and plan on going again later this spring.

Came up here with the intention of getting as close to Elk Lake as my 4x4 could make it in the snow then hiking the rest of the way in. I literally got to the trailhead and had to park it. Still a good hike and a decent workout. Made it all the way into Elk Lake in about 1.5 hours. Vehicle tracks all the way up. The lake was sufficiently frozen over otherwise I would've tried to fish. The snow on the road was wet and pretty slippery. You won't need snowshoes unless it's new powder. Otherwise, I suggest bringing a pair of Yaktraks or low profile crampons. A little overkill but it was exhausting slipping every step. The views along the first 1.5 miles are pretty nice.

Wonderful hike! A little muddy but still enjoyable. However, I almost missed the pool! If you reach a sign that says “does not loop around” you’ve gone too far.

Great for families and their first-time backpacking trips

Tried to go on 1/1/18 but road was closed as of 12/21/17 due to landslide. Check Fs.usda.gov.

Pool is BEAUTIFUL!! easy hike. We were the first ones on the trail Sunday morning. Nice to have it to ourselves for a bit. After blue pool we then hit up the Sahalie and Koosah falls and ended the day with a soak in the Terwilliger hot springs also known as Cougar hot springs. Makes a nice lil adventure.

I went on a steady drizzly day on December 2nd and I had the trail and Blue pool all to myself. One of my favorite hikes!

Great trail so long as you take it to the top. The total mileage with going to the peak is around 11.2 miles which means start early, especially this time of year. Beautiful views from the top. Not much snow except for the last mile or so but even then it's flattened out by hikers. If you don't want to do the entire hike, you can drive up the majority of the way, hike the last mile, and still see the view.

This is one of my favorite hikes! I typically cross the first bridge to take the trail on the opposite side of the creek then come back through Jawbone Flatts and on the road. It’s a pretty easy hike :)

This place is amazing! So much to see and do! Crystal clear water. Multiple falls and the pools. Wow!

As many people mention, this hike is on a gravel road. To be honest, I would rate it easy until you go to the pools. If you choose to take the path from the pools back down to the bridge it is hard! Lots of rocks and water on the trail (late fall) plus if you go this route it is closer to 8 or 8.5 miles than 6.5 miles. I usually hike in goretex runners. My feet were sore from all the scrambling.

Three pools, medium to small in size, hot as can be and ultimately refreshing! I love coming here to meditate.
