Nice trail to the top also can go to the left of the parking lot to take the trail towards Shortoff mtn. Go as far as you want and turn around

Well maintained trail and beautiful falls!

I like taking out of town company here, especially if they aren’t seasoned hikers. It’s got a nice mix of a leisurely, level hike along a stream in a beautiful forest, with some moderately steep hills with a nice payoff of a beautiful view of Looking Glass Rock. It can be an out and back or turned into a loop, see All Trails Map. Before or after the hike it’s nice to walk through the fish hatchery, visit Looking Glass Falls and Sliding Rock.
If heading back to Asheville taking 276 to the parkway is the way to go. You can take the parkway all the way to Asheville (Check for closures in the colder months), but I like to take 276 to Rt 40 and enjoy it’s windy curves with a canopy above.

A beautiful, short hike with lots of places to go explore. Many places to camp along the way.

Gorgeous fall! Powerful and no hike required! We did venture down the rocks to get a few more photos - it is super slippery!

Hard but lovely

Beautiful! Hiked to all three falls Nov 10, 2018. Well maintained trail and gorgeous falls.

Fun, pretty hike. Not hard, I did it 6 months pregnant!

Fun trail with great panoramic views! I do feel you can get similar, awesome views simply driving along Blue Ridge and utilizing the overlooks, however this trail offers up to experience both sides of the ridge at once. BE CAREFUL when it's windy out!

beautiful hike and impressive waterfall

Well worth the drive. But the gravel road is very bumpy and barely wide enough for two cars. Without an SUV, that road takes a lot longer to drive. It took us an hour to drive it. But it was a beautiful hike with great views.

Easy walk to viewing area. We didn't have any issues with downed trees at all. Beautiful falls!

Hiked in early November just after two days of rain. Amazing views. Will return in spring.

One of the most beautiful views in this area!

Nice easy trail, great views, just too short.

Short hike with great views.

One of my favorite trails. It is a bald, so you have beautiful unobstructed views. It is easy and short enough to bring a great picnic and set up on a rock outcrop. There are two other balds a short hike from the first of you want some extra adventure.

Great waterfall and kid friendly. The kids enjoyed it. Road to trail goes around some houses and you end up on a one car path to the trail. There is an area to park and walk. This one is a must see! Easy hike.

Best spot I’ve found so far to watch the sunrise. Simply stunning.

Nice trail had rained so part were mucky and slippery but quiet for the middle if a town.

We parked at the hatchery at 10 Sunday morning and by the time we returned, cars were lined up to find a space. Arrive early! The trail was a bit muddy in spots and my feet were covered by water on a couple water crossings, so wear waterproof shoes. We loved the trail. My Fitbit counted 89 flights of stairs, but there was not any intense section. It somehow seemed very easy. Absolutely stunning views at the top. Well worth seeing.

This hike was actually further than I thought. I read 1.6 miles to the main falls but it actually seemed more than that. maybe is was all the elevation changes. Excellent walk. The trail actually goes outside of the State Park where it is not quite so well maintained so expect some dodgy bits. At some point in the trail follows the river with several smaller Rapids to view. The Falls themselves are spectacular. Well worth the trouble.

Not a hike but it is a pretty waterfall!

Beautiful. Moderate walk with superb views, especially at the top. Bring a lunch and a camera.

Beautiful fall walk to the waterfalls. One easy stream crossing across large rocks. Some gentle ups and downs on the walk. The trail is well marked and maintained. Very little parking. About 30 minutes from Clemson. Well worth the easy walk to see these gorgeous falls up close.

My wife and I did this nice 5 mile loop, we started the day with this hike. For more challenging ascent, stay straight/left at fork (longer distance to viewpoint), going right is shorter and easier. The flat rock at the viewpoint is wide and accommodates sitting and having a snack or just taking in the view. We would recommend this before Looking Glass just down the road as that view is much better. We are in our 30s, hike is moderate if taking left at fork, easy if going right.

Such a great workout! The waterfall was breathtaking!

Hiked this on 10/21 with my husband. It was definitely a challenge for both of us, but the views at the top made it absolutely worth it. There was a lot of temperature change on the way up and down so packing layers is a must. Give yourself at least 6 hours for this hike. The trail itself is straightforward and easy to follow on the way up, but on the way down it is easy to take the wrong trail when passing by campsites as there are sometimes multiple trails leading off. I’m surprised this trail isn’t more popular because it was definitely one of my favorites, but no complaints because we had the summit to ourselves for over a half hour!

The hike itself is beautiful. Steep and definitely kinda difficult, but short enough that it's not a problem. HOWEVER, only go if you have a car that can handle a bumpy gravel road! You'll be on a dirt road for about 15-20 minutes before you hit paved road near the very top, and the dirt road was difficult to navigate for our VW Beetle. If we had a sturdier car it would've been totally fine, but instead it was quite nerve-racking!
