Hiked on 03/02/21. The trail is very steep and you need waterproof shoes with traction. Definitely worth the rocky scramble down to see the falls!

The more difficult west trail isn't too bad right now after a few days of sun. A little muddy but very doable.

HikingGreat!

Fun hike! Felt fairly short but it was almost all uphill so I wouldn't say it was too easy. Great view from the top! It seems to be a heavily trafficked trail. Worth going but will probably not go back again.

Do not listen to Apple Maps with this trail it will take you somewhere different. Follow the highway and take a right onto cook-Underwood rd. Definitely a steep hike coming back up if you have kiddos it would be a struggle to bring them along. This hike had such a beautiful waterfall at the end and has many places to capture pictures/videos. Nice detour hike quick and such a workout!

Right now, this time a year, pretty nice. Moderately muddy but overall ok. First time doing this hike so wasn't really prepared for the constant uphill. I'll be more ready next time.

HikingGreat!

Definitely not a simple hike. I was carrying a 30L day pack so that might've added to the difficulty. I felt that MicroSpikes were very helpful but saw others that were fine without them but it looks slippery. First 75% of the hike I felt that the Spikes were just extra weight and then they were needed. Great views of the Gorge, could see Helens, Rainier, and the top of Hood. Due to snow on the trail, I couldn't find the trail that I think would go to an Adams viewpoint.

Trail was very crowded- but to be expected on a sunny Saturday! It was very muddy and slippery at times, highly recommend hiking books! Not a trail to take on in your Nikes. Views at the top are well worth it!!!

Got there around noon. Parking lot was full. It was super crowded the whole time and so muddy in some places. I was wearing sneakers and had to grab two walking sticks or else I definitely would have ate it. Also sucks a lot of the trees at the top were dead because of the fire. Views were still pretty.

Really nice trail but definitely a tough one. We did the difficult one this time. The trail was dry pretty much up to the Puppy View Point, after that you need microspikes. Awesome views.

Early morning hike, so majestic looking up at Mt. Hood over the snowy lake. More people on the trail on my way back up to the parking lot (parking pass required, available at gas stations in Sandy and Government Camp). A lot of people wearing snow shoes or skis, but I was just fine in all purpose boots. I hope to go again spring/summer to see the lake.

It was a lot more difficult than I had anticipated but I made it. The trailhead is a road off the left. Also, the trail itself it REALLY difficulty follow. This is the first time I’ve used the map on AllTrails to stay on track. At times, I wasn’t on a trail at all. Just following the red line on the app. The hike itself was great. I’m going to be sore tomorrow.

Loved it! Did this trail 10 years ago when I first moved to Oregon in the heat of the summer and it was perfectly beautiful weather today on the last day of February. Muddy amd snowy in some parts but totally doable. We took her time, took lots of pictures and it took about three hours total.

Nice short trail. The start of this trail might not look like a trail but yes it’s steep and rocky at the beginning. Pretty steep all the way down to the fall. It could get very muddy with wet weather and makes it challenging. But very rewarded at the end. Normal gear is fine at the end of February but it will be nice to have waterproof shoes!

HikingGreat!

Great day hike! We were seeking a trail that would have some elevation but not be too muddy or snowy and this fit the bill! The open vistas the whole way up are beautiful. Maybe it was just the extreme wind, but I’d put this on the difficult end of moderate. Still, we finished in two hours with a short break. Note that you’ll have to make way for mountain bikers throughout.
