Short walk to the top. I like the views leading up the top more than at the top. It was a little cloudy the day we went, but still worth it.

I did this trail November 25th 2018 started at lodgepole campground and when all the way up to Twin Lakes. I had always intended to make it a single day hike and by the time I got the Twin Lakes my legs were pretty pumped out so I didn't go up to the summit. Besides the root was covered in icy snow and I didn't have any crampons and didn't want to risk it.

I passed two sets of hikers coming down from Twin Lakes and one lady who passed me on the way up. by the time I got to Twin Lakes she had already visited probably ate her lunch and was on the way down. she was probably in her mid 20's and I'm twenty years older but in good shape for my age. it took me 3.5 hours to make it up.

because there is a 2in layer of fresh snow I could tell that nobody had attempted to go to the summit, at least not since thanksgiving day when it last snowed.

the views from the lake are beautiful but the tree line is high enough that you cannot see much of the surrounding territory. I agree with other reviewers that to get the best out of this hike you should try to scale at least part way up the summit wall.

the trail is very well-marked but as with all trails when snow covers the ground that's hard to follow. my Samsung Galaxy was able to hold a GPS signal the whole way and so alltrails was able to record my progress. I always find that very useful since it's easy to lose trails and the alltrails topo maps are great for finding your exact position at any given time using the GPS on your phone. course correction is a breeze that way.

Amazing views!

It’s just a walk but it worth it to see

I love the view

One of those things you “have” to see... but definitely not exciting. A long walk (downhill) on cement - my knees weren’t a fan of that bit after a previous hike. Then a ton of people crowded around a tree for photos.... just don’t make this the only thing you do that day and you’re golden. Maybe go earlier too.. then a lovely walk back uphill on cement...

Lots of people, but it didn’t ruin the views. I sorta ran the stairs a bit for exercise, but stopped very often. Personally I think the views climbing the stairs up were better than at the top, but that’s only Bc it was after fires, so a very hazy day. Doesn’t take long, worth it. Ok for kids too.

We did this trail in July and really enjoyed it! Not too much elevation and many areas of shade. It was very hot and we enjoyed cooling off and wading in the creek along the trail.

We did this trail back in July. It was very crowded, but worth the stair climb.

backpacking

Did my first backpacking trip here. Excellent trail with great views and spots to stay at for the night. A couple of the spots, including by the lake, even have bear lockers, which was a nice touch. The campground by the lake also had a pit toilet. I went in mid-November and it was quite cold (low 20’s at night) so pack wisely.

Lovely hike between a meadow and some huge sequoias. Informational signs along the trail to learn about the sequoias and habitat restoration efforts by the park. Accessible and well maintained.

Can’t go to Sequoia without taking the short hike down to see the General Sherman. Highly recommend continuing on the the Congress Trail while you’re down there. One of my favorite hikes anywhere.

One of my favorite trails anywhere! The trees here are spectacular. A must see at Sequoia. Very uncrowded around 9am in late November.

Lovely short walk with many sequoia tree displays. Information boards are really useful. Was November and still very busy with people but quite a big car park. Toilets at the car park. Wheel chair accessible as is all paved out but big hill to get up and down to go see trees.

on Moro Rock Trail

Steep climb with steps up to the top of Moro rock. Was busy even though was November but was also a weekend. Great boards up with interesting information along the path. We headed up here for sunset and was beautiful, the views from the top are breathtaking. Plenty of parking and toilets at the trailhead.

Lovely walk along the river with a clearly marked out path all the way to the falls. We went then in early November so there was only a small amount of water falling down. But looks like there would be much more water at other times of the year. Trail starts in lodgepool campsite so if your staying there is very convenient but we just parked in the visitor centre. There is toilets in campsite.

trail head visibly marked ,sad to say valley air terrible due to wildfires. Family and I came up from nearby Hanford to take day hike, enjoyed it very much, trail easy to hike maintained as a trail could be as always trip hazards one in particular was a steel post for embankment reinforcements was protruding up out of ground at a trail corner cutback. EOL the falls well worth hike falls were running well had lunch took a little nap headed back, traffic light on trail encountered 1 family on trail and at falls another couple showed up. anyway a great way to enjoy nature

trail head was visibly marked sad to say valley air was terrible due to wildfires. Trail itself was easy to hike temps were excellent, 70ish traffic real light 1 other fasmily on trail end result were the falls they were running well had lunch and a little nap headed back nice day hike.

Cool short hike. The only problem is since it’s so short, it’s very popular so you can’t really hike your speed because of the crowd.

Challenging but great hike!

Absolutely stunning trail

Not much of a hike but some amazing Redwoods

We had planned to do the entire loop but after Watch Tower the track got rocky, narrow and very steep sided. We had checked before hand but no comments said “if you are afraid of heights, give this a miss”. We walked half a km past the Tower but then turned back. It’s beautiful but if heights worry you, take another trail. We didn’t make it to the lake, just back tracked down. This trail was closed today but we were among 30 other hikers doing it. Amazing views. Definitely a must for the ones who like heights. And take water, so many people take these trails with a tiny bottle or nothing and wearing sneakers- ????

Overall, an easy hike through the sequoias to the stair climb. Beautiful views of the valley all through out the trail and tons of wild life. The stair climb can be difficult but their are plenty of places to stop and break and enjoy the views before reaching the insane panoramic views at the top. Get their early before it gets busy to truly appreciate it :)

Short hike, but the elevation will definitely catch up to you on your way back to the railhead. Great for a quick stop and photo-op.
