Some of the Trail was a 3 and many areas a 5. It was a little challenging staying on the trail at times. Only saw one other. Fair amounts of standing water but otherwise path was pretty firm.

A well spent day. Added a couple of side loops (intentionally). Weather was cold and drizzling but trail was in good condition.

Hidden gem in a humdrum city life.

Even if the trail is easy to moderate and not much of a challenge, you get to stop and enjoy many wonderful views throughout the trail.

Georgia state. Cherokee Trail very nice, beautiful trail. i never go to Hiking. My first time in to hiking very nice, peaceful. Then finishing My Trail point. I will ne there next time on trail. I got late at 6 pm. Dark. Will be strong. Next time.

I enjoying hiking this with my dogs still looking for this purple trail but the perimeter trail is a wonderful workout and in the fall there is very little traffic

Absolutely beautiful trail

Very nice trail. The first half or so is paved and quite broad and then it gets the observation trail which is dirt and about 2 people wide. There are some gradual elevation changes and a nice creek that you cross over... though they put the bridge right on top of some falls so you don't get a great view.

It rained 4 days ago and there was no mud on this trail.

Definitely worth the hike! The bamboo forest was the best reward at the end!

Super fun getaway from the city! We’re still searching for the bamboo forest.

This is one of our favorites. It’s close the kids love it and it’s beautiful in the fall!

No dogs allowed on the mountain. We took the white trail all the way up without a single sign to indicate this and got yelled at the ranger at the top. Was an amazing trail but it was ruined by the rangers attitude especially when he said there are six signs on the yellow trail that we did not take. I don’t like breaking rules ever so it sucks when I did so unintentionally. I’ll go back without the pup but just be warned not to do as I did.

My favorite trail!!!

So many different trail options and you feel like you’re out of the city.

Love my backyard park! Great for walking (pav d road or trails), biking, trail running. Trails pretty rooted/technical in some sections (esp white trail!). I never pay park fees- downtown Stone Mountain has plenty of free spots. Plan & Strategize-as some times /days pretty busy.

Beautiful quiet trails! A bit busy near the start along the river, but we started to the right going up the mountain and saw a cool overlook over the river with kayakers. Our pup loved it!

My husband and I loved hiking this trail. In total we did 5.8 miles but took a couple extra routes. You can make it as long or short as you like! To start, it is incredibly beautiful. I mean you have views of the river, water features, a bamboo forest, and some elevation which we really liked. I would say this is a moderate trail and can be tough at times for kids, but nothing they can’t handle. There’s lots of dogs off leash so if your dog is aggressive this is not the trail for you. I would highly suggest this trail to anyone that wants to be in the city but feel completely immersed in nature! Ps. The bamboo forest is by Trail marker E26.

There are a few trails that are not mapped. My dog and I always go during a weekday and usually there are not a whole lot of people that we run into, especially on these secret hidden trails. There is one trail that is on the very north side almost to the final mapped point where I put a few sticks to make the trail apparent. This trail leads to an old overgrown well and rusted steel cord crank that looks like it was used at one point to haul timber. Another trail that is not marked splits off on the northern trail that runs next to the creek. This trail leads to a rusted wheel barrow looking piece and will lead up the hill to a deer trail where my dog and I saw a 2-point buck. You can really spend all day there with how many mapped and un-mapped trails there are.

Really nice hike, lots of different things to see. Pretty easy to follow as long as you check the map in the app occasionally.

Great trail! So many options for walking, jogging, biking. Kid friendly & pet friendly!

We pretended we were in a jurassic wonderland during the last few half-miles of this trail. Downed trees and big leaves made this a harrowingly beautiful experience. The river was filled to the brim and flowed as a river should. Exactly as nature intended.

I did a slightly different loop, so it was 4 miles with the same path in and out along the river. Nice hike. No bamboo.

A unique attraction worth doing once just to say you have done it. The dolls head bit is a curiosity. The pond was rather stagnant. In late August there was a little bit of Cardinal Flower blooming.

Great loop around Stone Mountain. Not too heavily traveled on a Saturday morning. Last 3/4 mile is fairly steep and difficult.

Nice trail. Spooky..:trash along the route. Next time will be prepared to pick up some along the way.

Not a good experience, too much jungle.

It’s odd, and the energy is a bit weird, but it makes sense. Half of the loop is over grown and full of poison ivy. Had a cool experience seeing a family of white tail deer though.
