Nice hike on gravel road. the views we good, even on a cloudy, snowy day.

good day hike. remember to pack enough clothes with elevation change from bottom to the top the temperature and weather can change pretty quickly.

Climbed Table Rock on 1/9/19 with future son in law Jim. Try to climb early January each year to get the year off right. Cold but sunny day. Temp in mid 40s.
Love the climb. Strenuous is correct Well worth the view.

Beautiful hike, even with sleet. 4.9 miles on the loop.

The ranger was not exaggerating the amount of steps and elevation gain that are involved in this hike but as promised it has some great views. If you have knee hip or ankle issues be prepared for lots of uneven steps maybe consider using poles. We hiked this after a lot of rain so the trail was fairly muddy. No shortage of waterfalls to see on the way up. Lots of large boulders to stop and take a break. For SC this is a great option if you are looking for a challenge. Overall great hike.

It was a bit rainy when we went but that just made the waterfall look even more spectacular. Great view of Rainbow Falls, didn't go all the way to Turtleback because we had the dogs with us and they weren't really behaving well that day but would love to go back!

Great trail with a beautiful waterfall at the end.

Worth the visit. Very well kept and friendly folks around. Waterfalls are amazing. Would definitely come back for another run.

Great day to do the hike, especially since the state park was closed so not may tourists around. Total mileage was 12.2.

Nice waterfall hike with good views. Very well maintained trail inside Jones Gap State Park. Just over 5 miles from the parking lot, round trip. I'm a frequent hiker, but had a 9 and 7 year old with me. Took 2.5 hours. The Falls are beautiful. Highly recommend. If you go do it early. there is limited parking and when there's no room, you'll be waiting outside the park until someone leaves. the rangers control the flow of traffic

This trail is no joke. It is very strenuous, even for well-seasoned hikers. The view and the feeling you'll get from finishing are worth it!

I've done this trail many times. It's a great 4ish mile loop if you use the bypass. Today (1/6/19) we hiked it counter-clockwise. There were quite a few downed limbs and trees at the beginning and end of the trail, but overall it was not in bad shape although muddy throughout.

Very fun! To complete the loop you have to cross the river twice! It would be better on a warm day, we went in the freezing cold, but it made for some great memories

Brutal but worth it!

Foggy wet and chilly but beautiful. the road leads to science center which has secondary trail heads that lead into SMNP. Too wet and foggy for those until spring.

My wife and I knocked this out on a trip to the area. Well worth the work. Suggest leaving early morning and enjoying lunch at the top overlooking the reservoir. Very enjoyable time!

This was my first waterfall hike and was not at all disappointed. I will go again.

Lovely, easy trail. Busy with families and dogs. We had our three dogs with us and enjoyed the stroll. The waterfall at the enx is beautiful and views across the valley were stunning.

1Jan2019 - recent rains increased flows nicely...
Great family hike. Enjoyed rainbow as Sun break though...

Fun hike! Not hard.

Great hike. Rainbow Falls are amazing. It was well worth the additional hike to go on up to Turtleback Falls.

So happy I read the reviews before we embarked on this hike - Left is easy, and enjoyable. Right - Straight uphill for a long, long time. Going left, first part has a lot of views of smaller falls and runs along the river. When you get halfway, views turn into open fields, and more forest. But the ending was awesome. Seeing that waterfall so close up was super cool! It was VERY WET from the rain over the last week. Part of the road on the way to the trailhead was washed out. Overall, great hike.

Beautiful hike. I agree with those that have said it was a challenging hike, but I would add enjoyably challenging.

one of the best hikes ive been on in a while.

Nice family hike! Be prepared to get wet at the end.!

They mean it when it says hard. I am an experienced hiker and the elevation gain was a challenge. However, I think at a slow and steady pace most anyone can complete this. The view at the top is so worth it. There are several spots as you get to the end where you can see a full panoramic view. Great way to spend the day. Make sure to bring a heavy snack and/or lunch to enjoy at the top.

Warm Day in December. The trail was very busy so get started early on the weekend if you like to hike with little traffic. The falls were amazing after all the snow run off and rain. Very muddy and the mist at the falls got us all pretty wet. Great hike for newer hikers. Waterproof shoes helpful and be ready to get dirty!

Beautiful warm December day! The trail was very muddy with a few trees over the trail. Not for newbies-which we had a couple with us-but they did enjoy the hike. Waterproof shoes essential and plan to get dirty!

Nice loop trail from deep creek access point of GSMNP. Maybe 5 miles but easy enough that keeping track isn’t really necessary. Going to juney whank falls first and going clockwise the first half will run along a creek, then climb a bit, then descend to run along another creek. 3 waterfalls in all and all pretty for this time of year. Most of the trail is wide and flat with benches so it’s good for anyone.

Family Friendly and EZ hike with great views at the end. The water was running well in December. You may want waterproof shoes or you’ll need to step carefully. It wasn’t a big deal but if more water was on the trail it could be in parts.
$15 a person is definitely a lot of money but it offered more value than Grandfather Mountain.
