Nice walk along the Eastern Coast of the Mediterranean. You can see snow capped mountains rise over 6000 feet, a marina full of yachts, a fisherman on a rocky beach casting his bamboo fishing rod, and the beautiful campus of one of the most recognized institutions in the Middle East, The American University of Beirut. At the end of the walk, you can grab a freshly cold pressed juice of your choice or a right out of the oven zaatar (thyme) pie, a staple of a Lebanese breakfast.

I wouldn’t even consider it a hike. It’s a short walk down to the falls, which are breathtaking. A little more impressive if you don’t go at the end of the summer as the wet season means a much less intense waterfall. For avid hikers, I suggest a 4-5 hour hike starting at the bottom of the mountain that faces the waterfall. The first half is an intense walk up. But once you get past that it’s a beautiful rocky landscape that awaits! Walk a little further and you’ll have a beautiful view of Douma village and it’s pretty red roofs.

Great hike especially when it’s foggy! You have an out of this world view from the balcony when it’s clear! I highly recommend this hike
