Ubagadaira in Nasu, Tochigi I went to see the autumn leaves mountain in Nasu. Just now mountain is like burning. Red, yellow, orange, light green and so on. I’ll share more autumn leaves pictures. Why not enjoy the Japanese autumn. 紅葉 The most beautiful moment before white season.

Oze is one of the most popular hiking course in Japan. Always there are so many people there but there were few hikers because of the typhoon last Sunday. The weather was actually very nice. Lucky. I’ll share some pictures in Oze. You can see Mount Shibutsu and Hiuchigadake.

Yatsugatake in Nagano. This hiking area is the very popular so it takes about 2 hours by car from Tokyo and it’s easy to get there. There are some mountain hut and are very convenient. These picture is a volcano called Mt. Iou in Yatsugatake. Of course there are many hot springs “ Onsen”. It's one of funs to go to the hot springs after hiking. I suddenly encountered a deer when I enjoyed hiking. Of course I was so surprised and a deer also was surprised and looked at me.

Oyama Afuri Shrine It was very hot today. I was really sweaty. I had a break time so there was the cafe in this shrine. You can reach the mountain top by cable car and can see the city view.

Moderately challenging (generates a sweat for the average person). Lots of shade from surrounding trees, pretty much all uphill hike and coming down. The higher up you go on the path the less tourists you see actually continue (the most crowded part is clearly the beginning section, after that it’s less congested).

Very easy trail, really not even that much of a trial, more of a touristy nature walk since it’s always crowded with tourists. Still, if you’re in Kyoto this is a MUST DO.

Really fun hike, don’t go when it’s even a little bit wet outside. Lots of climbing over rocks, great view at the top. Slippery on the way down. Start early. Park at the community center so you don’t block farm vehicles on the road to the trailhead. I recommend to keep left at the three way junction.

It was very very worth!!

November is a good season for this trail. Sunshine flow on the forest and kiss my face. But too many rocks.

Nice trail - very beautiful in fall. Several groves of evergreen cedars on the way up and small waterfalls greet you on the way up on the west side. On the way down on the east side - groves of deciduous trees prior to reaching the evergreens. View from the top was good from the back side if you like mountains (Fuji) and not cities. Having said that the terrain is steep with many irregular stairs made of rock, stones, and logs. Not for the weak knee individuals. There is a team that will get you half way but I didn’t take it.

Awesome hike, definitely agree w everyone that says avoid trail number 1. We did 6 most of the way and had to do detour to top but everything was marked so well. Get a trail map at info station. Note, no trash cans anywhere so bring a bag to take trash home. Few bathrooms but maybe I missed something at top. Summit has nice food.

Took route 1 up and it was paved, very crowded and passes through shrines, etc. Would recommend Inariyama Route which is more forested.

Summer night hiking in Kyoto. I went to Mt. Atago in Kyoto to see the night festival at Atago Shine. So many people in Kyoto walk to pray eight-kilometer pilgrimage route once a year on July 31st. It takes about 3 hours to the top. I stated at 11 pm from Kyoto station and return at 6 am next day. People in Kyoto believe they go to Atago Shine that day and to make them happy and to be peaceful. It's a pilgrimage trip on a summer night in Kyoto.

Good morning,Fuji In my opinion, I believe It’s the best to see Mount Fuji in early spring. Because there are a lot of snow on the top and clear sky. I went up the Mount Mitsutoge 三つ峠山 It’s one of the best view places to see the Mount Fuji. It takes about 6 hours to walk and back. Please try it.

I went hiking to the top of 4 mountains in Tokyo. It wasn’t cold and good weather for hiking. I saw the white house statue and ate the mushroom miso soup at the top. In the end I went to Takao temple. 2,000 calories on 20 km walk.

A nice walk thru an old castle ruins site. I parked at the market up the street. Some steep and uneven footing. A nice place for a walk if you’re in the area.

As I walked around, I gazed at a very big tree. Then, I walked across the stepping stone bridge at the river.

I park my car in the parking of Asama 2000 ski area and start climbing the mountain. The clouds spread like the sea. Yellow autumn foliage in Mt. Asama. I can hear only the sound of the wind.

I’ll go up to Mt.Tanigawa in Gunma to see autumn foliage. At first, I get in the ropeway and head to the upper station. These are some views from the cabin. I’m looking for a bunch of fall foliage. The Japanese mountains put red makeup in fall before white makeup in winter.

Great trail. The more difficult hikes do not include the rope swings. Trails A,B and C vary in difficulty. I would not rate this trail easy. There are spots with steep inclines which require you to use the ropes to assist. Trail C is my favorite trail close to Courtney. Bring water!

This trail was really nice. Although I saw people post about how there wasn’t much a view, if you get to the 490m elevation sign and immediately take a left you’ll walk down a narrow trail that puts you right at the side of the mountain. Amazing view. Got lost on the way back so make sure you have a whole day set ahead of you. The boars can scare the hell out of you.
