Super muddy in this time of year so bring some good boots. Not much views but you do get some easy rocks to maneuver for a bit. I’m not a pro hiker by any means but I did it with a 2 year old on my back. BRING BUG SPRAY. Without it, I’m not sure it we would of went as far as we did. Also, they should rename this the “stairway to heaven” as there’s TONS of muddy rock stairs going up. No paved roads after the map and super pretty walking path that is well managed along the way. Plenty of locals there to help guide us. Hope this helped!

Lots of steps but it was the perfect amount of challenge. Brought my dog and she loved it but definitely bring water! I also recommend a stick to brush away the spiders and webs. There are multiple trails but they are all connected. Lots of maps so you can’t get lost. Wonderful views!

The shortest trail I think I have ever done, it kicked butt! Took 6 friends and we all really enjoyed it. Lots of places to explore. LOTS of spiders! Awesome for such a short distance, lots of bang for the walking distance and no boring stretches.

In the beginning, I though it would be to easy. The trail is endless and I will have to come bag where I stopped to see how far it really goes.

Good trail for families and dogs. Would not suggest if you’re looking for a good work out. It is an easy walk through the forest. Will visit again.

The views of the Tama river is amazing! Easy one but due to Hagibis the trail is under renovation near the dam! Detour is available so you can get back on the trail a little ahead! We continued to hike till the Okutama station which was also an easy one! The name of the trail is Ohtama walking trail. Maps are available along with directions on the trail! Pet friendly too! Have fun

It was an amazing trail with the sound of the ocean and walking through the forest. Easy hike for beginners like me! Make sure to carry enough water to last the trail .

HikingClosed

The ropeway to the central Hakone peaks remains closed, likely throughout all of 2020 summer. Road along the lake is in good condition, would be excellent for a bike trip. You could easily cycle around the whole lake in a day. Few spots offer a good view of Mt. Fuji. Bus from either end point to Odawara takes ~70 mins and costs ~¥1300.

super cool trail. it's short but took us about 30 mins. full of climbs up and down rocks through caves. we parked at the castle ruins and then walked through the education center, down the stairs, took a right down a driveway passed a camping area and then followed the red arrow to the trail.

It was easy but steep. Must wear hiking boots even 2days after the rain because of all the mud.

This is indeed NOT a moderate trail. It needs considerable improvements and repairs especially throughout the first/ last quarter. Nonetheless, this is a very enjoyable hike with numerous trail variations and conditions. And it’s a good bet for those who love a steep climb.
