Maedabashi trail and Shonan village trail part of the Mount Ogusu hiking course. Lots of bugs and a bit overgrown in parts. Shonan village trail has parking at trail head. Kinugasa Trail will be closed for approx. 2 more years due to construction of a waste processing facility.

Great hike! Shaded most of the way- lots of steps!. Did not expect the nice temples along the way and waterfall near the end. View ok from top due to smog layer but better at Maishai... point near the end. I recommend this hike

All three open trails of Mount Ogusu. Ikegami, Maedabashi, and Shonan Village. Three summits out and back on each trail.

Great hike from Maebashi station has a river hike, two water falls, mostly a forest hike with two hills before final brief ascent to Ogusu.

Good trail. Some parts are steep scrambles up rocks and over tree roots. Mostly in shade; the start by the Taura plum (ume) grove is sunny. A few restrooms at the start and one near the end; no water.

Not much to choose from in the Yokosuka area (at least not according to AllTrails) but nevertheless this was such an enjoyable day hike. Bring water as there are no water sources along the trail. The toilets at the entrance are the only ones so do not pass up the opportunity. Take the trail to the top of the mountain. Breathtaking views of the entire area and a perfect view of Mt Fuji and Tokyo. I highly recommend this to anyone. -Biscuit

Trail is very rocky and muddy, great views of Hakone and Mount Fuji/Gotemba. Quite challenging for a medium distance hike second mile was a butt kicker. Trail ends on the road a little ways from the trail head not a proper loop.

It’s a nice little park with a few paved and non-paved paths. Very easy to walk, though has done elevation. Suitable for any age and any season. The best views are guaranteed in sunny weather, when Fuji-san is not hidden in the clouds.

Strong effort required, but a beautiful trail run for those who love hills.

Walk it clockwise (like recommended here) - otherwise you’re against the masses which is not fun at some narrow parts. Very tourist/ non-Japanese friendly (english speaking tourist info/ maps at isehara station and on the loop everything in romaji/ English) Very easy accessible from Tokyo by odakyu line from shinjuku. Decent hike though very crowded, many families with small children and views are so so if sight is not perfect.

A lot of staircases, but all the time in the forest.

Easy trail for families. Walk through a cleared path to the Ikego Campgrounds where there are small cabins. You pass by some open fields, bamboo, water and old samurai gravesites. The whole thing takes about 20-30 minutes roundtrip and is flat. Great for kids and dogs allowed, but watch for snakes.
