5.10.19. Wonderful, easy walk on part of the Via di Francesco in Umbria. Great views, extremely quiet (only one car passed in over an hour (and the occupants were on their way to prepare food for pilgrims). We did an out and back, starting and ending at the Pieve dei Saddi Church, thé lower parts of which date from the 4th century. My stats if you are considering this: Distance: 3.5 miles Elevation Gain: 541 feet Moving Time: 1:19:42

A great half day walk. Cerreto is interesting - you can learn all about the Cerretani in the middle ages - it's the derivation of our word charletan. You find a carved Roman inscription on a stone in a very unlikely place and on the walk back towards Borgo Cerreto you join the track of the famous old Spoleto-Norcia railway, including passing through a short tunnel
