Easy, about 1 hour each way. Unmarked, and easy to miss in some sections in the middle. Use the Alltrails map.

Incredible low level walk with world Class scenery. Starting with cute Italian streets you progress to some awe inspiring views of lake Como. Lots of history along the way and every step offers an Instagram friendly shot..

Beautiful but crowded trail, wonderful houses and villas on the other side of the canal. All paved until Adda river in Cassano, then unpaved along the river. Recommended!

Occasional hikers we hiked in just over two and a half hours. Most of the walk is done in the undergrowth with beautiful views and beautiful scenery, including an altitude valley that is worth the trip! Hiking made in the rain, which makes some passages complex but in dry weather no particular difficulty.

Too bad the view is blocked by all the electricity masts and cables

I would recommend this trail for beginners. Lots of shade, water stop close to the stop. Also you can go back other way and make a loop - you’ll see the sign “villa Monastero”, head that way and you’ll End up in this beautiful villa!

Loop trail from Ponte del Guat (1528) to Rifugio Gnutti (2184), Rifugio Baitone (2218) and Rifugio Tonolini (2448). Hard climbing at Miller stairs, then gorgeous views. A little exposed at Passo del Gatto and some tricky passages helped with chains.

Well, it’s called Val Codera. Big valley, only reachable by foot. Great valley!

This trail is a true gem, unexpected and unusual, with great balcony views about 2000 feet above the valley floor. Most of the trail runs flat along abandoned railroad tracks which were used to build the hydroelectric infrastructure. Then it passes through several real fun hiking tunnels. Better bring a headlight for these. Don’t miss making a little detour to the town of Cola, it’s gonna wow you all the way, almost confuse you, how such a lovely antique town can be there. The hike down through the mountain town San Giorgio is like a time walk through a millennia of history. There’s a carved stone where they used to mummify the dead. These towns are only reachable by foot. Another thousand feet down and you’re back on the valley floor. The hike is not difficult at all, it’s just a bit long. Very much recommended.

Beautiful trail. The road from Introbio to val Biandino is closed, so you'll have the hike all the way from the bottom, which is a shame. the first 8km or so are not that interesting, it would be better if we could start from the val itself. After the lake, make sure you climb to the ridge, it's worth the view!

being a Florida flat-lander, this was an uphill slog! It was a 2200' climb over 3 1/2 miles to the peak, then down 200' to the views. the views are spectacular of Bellagio, Menaggio, Varenna and Lake Como. I downhill portion was pretty treacherous. there is a lot of gravel and scree, so slipping is a hazard. lots to see along the way, trenches, a church, a cross, some old houses and ruins. the trail in not well marked. a spring water pipe about halfway up.

Amazing views. Steep climb in areas, great for trail jogging, good workout. Once I got to the highest elevation I could not continue down trail to the church since it was overgrown. I attempted to break through with large stick but I could not go any further. Still worth it as you have great views on the way up. Coming back I attempted to go down back way as I was staying south of starting point, but it looked like private property with electrical fence for cows.

Steep climb from the water front and not really for sandal clad feet due to river rock pavement. Castle Vezio was interesting with great views.

strenuous for first 2 miles, around 750-800 ft climbed per mile but well worth the views. from San Martino you have access to a network of trails connecting peaks and cities.

Quick, beautiful hike with panoramic views of Lake Como and the lighthouse.

easy walk.. some cobbles .. some climbing ..but lakeside views throughout

nice trail, could be marked a bit better. there were a few backtracks to relocate the path

Very beautiful hike mostly in the forest, good choice in hot summer days as the trail is well shaded by the trees.

The start is pretty steep but starts to get easier about 1/3 of the way up. Certainly worth the climb for the views at the top.

Short walk and a nice place for picnics, with amazing view .

A great way to get to know some of the villages on Lake Como. I would consider this trail to be less of a hike and more of a long, scenic walk (with some hills, of course)! We stopped by Villa del Balbianello, as it is not far from the path.

First off my fellow hikers please do not follow my map! My GPS tracking looks like I’m a caged mouse scurrying around looking for her cheese! I couldn’t even find the gelato store when I got off the Ferry in Varenna

Ran on the Greenway path two mornings in a row from our Air bnb in Ossuccio on Lake Como. The path is fantastic and well marked by signs in many places. Most of the path is flat along the lake shore but part of it goes up above the lake into the foothill neighborhoods by a big church and then back down to the lake shore. Beautiful views the whole way, lots of birds, and you pass through one cool small village after another on the lake from start to finish. Wubba lubba dub dub!

Short walk from the stunning views at the top of the Pigra cablecar is the Belvedere lookout. Easy walk through town then through some woods to a bench and picnic table at the lookout.

Hiked up to Castle Vezio from the main square of Varenna where the ferry docks. Short but steep walk up starting among the restaurants downtown up past some residences up the hill and further up next to some woods until you reach the top of the hill where the castle is. Tickets are 4 euro per person and you can walk around the whole castle which isn't huge but the views are spectacular looking south at Bellagio and the split of lake Como. Amazing views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Very cool spot and did the whole journey from the ferry up and back down in less than an hour to catch the boat back to our next destination.

It's an easy hike but with lots of breath taking views of the mountains. If you have a friend who is not into hiking :) you can go all the way to the rifugio Vodala (almost half way through the climb) by the ski lift, then continue the hike on foot to Monte Benfit.
