Beautiful views. Many stairs. Did all 5 towns - except one that was washed out- and back.

Amazing views of Portofino and the bay. Would recommend hiking up to the Castello Brown and the Faro to complete the trail. Many cars passing on the road in the part along the sea and sometimes there is no place for pedestrians! Be careful.

My kids (6yr, 11yr and 13yr) have declared this their favorite hiking trip so far. We got to the bridge, went across, then decided to go back across the bridge to scamper down to path 4. They played in the water, then we set off across the obstacles to come. There are places where you have to hang on to chains and metal bars to stay on the path and a couple ladders to go down. The path back up was rocky and steep but we reached the top (with a few breaks on the way up) with smiles on our faces.

The entire trail was not open just portions. The views were beautiful. Absolute must if you visit! This was 11/17/2019

Did this trail the summer of 2019 in the middle of the heat wave in Italy with my 7-year old daughter and 9-year old nephew. There are lots of stairs when you leave Vernazza and we stopped every 15 minutes for water. But this hike is absolutely gorgeous, passing a couple of brooks along the way! The views are spectacular!! It took us two hours on the dot, with stops. I’m surprised this hike is rated as moderate, though. I’ve been on quite a few hikes and this one was more difficult than a lot of the ones I’ve completed due to all the stairs.

Enjoyed experiencing this amazing trail with my wife on our vacation. We hiked this trail during the off-season in November, so we only came across a handful of other hikers and some cats. We were extremely lucky to get the perfect three hour window without rain to reach Vernazza from Monterosso al Mare. I recommend this trail, especially during off-season, to anyone wanting to walk a perfect path.

Good trail. Beautiful/one of a kind views. Heavily trafficked (and it was end of October and overcast). Go early. Ocean view Trails are closed if/when it rains hard, which is logical due yo smooth stones of path and hard packed dirt.

Steep incline from Monterosso, somewhat flat in the middle, and more gradual incline into Vernazza. Mixture of paved roads and rocks. Pretty strenuous, so recommend being in decent shape and having good traction. Would do it again! Enjoy!

Amazing hike. Nice to start with a coffee at Levanto beach, then steady incline up to a peak with incredible views of the entire Cinque Terre. Well maintained trails, awesome sea views and nicely scented plants. Steep decline into Monterosso.

Much easier this direction than the reverse - the incline is gentle with awesome views of Vernazza. Nice coastal walk with meandering trail. Steep decline at the end but finishes on the beach for a swim!

Nice walk, bit of an incline but easily manageable. Nice views of the coast. Slippery when it’s wet.
