great hike. trail is very narrow in places. uneven terrain and stairs in numerous locations. I left Vernazza at 830am, when I arrived in Monterossa there was an attendant charging people for access to the trail. no attendant at Vernazza. I have no idea if you hike early it's free or I just got lucky. the climb from Monterossa is very, very steep and long.

easy walking with great views, gets harder if you do the loop around

Beautiful hike but not 3.5 miles, my Garmin logged it 5.25. Water at the top of the Praiano section near the homes is nice. Of course steps and more steps but the views are worth it!! Busy in sections but not too bad

Almost 5 miles if you take variant that starts in the west side of Praiano. See my recording.

It’s definitely a challenging trail.

This app is hopeless, the maps won’t load even if you have pro.

Sooo many stairs! So worth it! We did the hike from Corniglia to Manarola and the climb was steep at the beginning but a much steeper decent into Manarola. Beautiful views, patches of shady forest, gorgeous vineyards and olive groves.

Day to day photo-stories from Alta Via 1 in Polish (translatable) are available at: http://pmdkwe.blogspot.com/2016/02/altavia1.html

Incredible views throughout! Definitely not for the faint of heart or those wearing flip-flops. You will sweat. A lot. Bring water, wear sturdy shoes or better yet hiking boots. Bring a few euros for a chance encounter with an 80 year-old man selling fresh squeezed orange juice and grapes along the way!

Gorgeous views and oftentimes shaded paths. There's a fair amount of climbing stairs both up and down and uneven ground so I definitely recommend hiking boots or good sneakers. There's a path down to the sea partway along.

Fantastico

Incredible hike! The whole thing is actually 32km long.. took me 6hrs to finish.. I confusing in some of the villages to find the right way.. I have the gpx file if anyone wants it.. email me at dagham67@gmail.com

Breathtaking views and undulating hills make for a wonderful hike on this ancient walk.

Nice hike with all my family. Not as easy as I remember it was, but we did it at the end.
At the Bellavista you can eat, drink and relax before starting your walk back to Maso Corto. Be careful on the path exposed to fall, and... have always a look around, we saw some mountain goats on the way back home. It was Amazing!!!

Very crowded and hot! No shade, but coming into Vernazza is worth it! The climb up and the descent are steep.

Monday 7-30-2018: Four of us hiked Bindelweg (Viel dal Pan). We hiked from Passo Pordoi and ended at Rifugio Luigi Gorza. The distance was 4.5 miles with 1370 ft elevation gain. From there we took Cable Car down to Arabba. This is a popular easy hike with great views, Piz Boë on one side, Marmolada on the other. Marmolada is the highest mountain of the Dolomites with 3,343 m above sea level.

Great view and amazing place to run.

Lots of fun and easy to run!

This hike was a spur of the moment, the wife and I decided one morning to see how much ground we could cover. We are very active, in our minds it was fairly easy. There were some breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea but there was also a lot of time off the coast. Will do this again next time we are in the area, great way to breakup the gluttony of vacationing in Italy!

Great coastal trails with village stops!

Lovely hike ! You have to park either in the nearby parking garage (which I would recommend), or find a spot on the road. Then, you have to walk past all the shops to where the signs(they say the hike in Italian) begin popping up for the hike. The water was flowing, and it was beautiful! Worth it !

Great Hike, well marked, but the aggressive dogs guarding the herd of goats near the end of the trail was an unwanted encounter for sure .

It was somewhat challenging but worth the effort. I would recommend it to those over 75, like myself who enjoy walking and hiking for exercise

Beautiful hike, we went from Monterosso to Vernazza. I liked doing the steepest section at the beginning. Picturesque hike and some stunning views.

I ran all 1.3 miles that I covered. Park at the church and took the right route instead of left. It is a difficult route and a lot of it is straight up large boulders with little scenery. A bit tougher when wet.

loved this hike with my family. Beautiful views the whole time.
