The Via Francigena is an ancient Roman path that goes from Roma to Canterbury. Here is a multi-day piece of this path. From Aosta to Châtillon you can follow the cycle path along the Dora Baltea which descends the Aosta Valley to Ivrea. It is a pleasant course that runs along the Dora, passing through woods, along a golf course or recreation areas. You can stay at the Franciscan monastery in Châtillon. Then you will pass through Verrès, Champérioux, the ruins of the imposing castle of Montjovet, Pont-Saint-Martin, Lago di Viverone, Santhià and at the end Vercelli.
