I took a small group with me on this hike. Absolutely beautiful. About 1/5 of the time we weren’t quite sure where the trail was (inadequate signage, especially the first 10 miles or so). But the scenery and history more than made up for the slight confusion. Found the people at each stop to be gracious and warm. Though the dueling Muslim calls to prayer upon arriving in Cana were a bit unsettling for those in my party who had never been to Israel. The highlight of the trip (outside of the historical sights) was hands down The Abel Guesthouse. Incredible food and warm hospitality. Make sure you buy The Jesus Trail book ahead of time and have the trail plotted on whatever map app you use. Finally walking sticks or hiking poles are a must. Not just for the steep inclines at times (starting with the bazillion steps you must climb as you leave Nazareth) but to scare away the occasional pack of dogs looking for food. Can’t wait to do this hike again.

Great trail with ups and downs. Not for beginners, has red and black parts. Beautiful views, much shadow, not much open sun. Good shoes are necessary because of many stones on the trail. Be ready to cross the stream several times. Take water with you, there is no place to buy it.

Everything was nearly perfect, we decide to take tent with us, so we camp on the way, lots of animals jackals, antelopes and others. Only big disappointment for us was habit to throw trash out from town, was really disgusting close to some towns near nathareth

If you’re here in August make sure to have water an umbrella for shade. No mater the time of year you’ll need to have your shoulders covered and a dress or pants on if you’re going to want to get in.

8/26/2019 • This is a beautiful hike full amazing history. Hike starts out totally uphill, fight through it. The view at the top underneath a couple tress is all worth it. Park rangers here don’t mess around so be sure to follow the rules, just as you should at any park.

We did this hike last week (May 14 - May 17 2019). It was an awesome challenge/experience for my wife and I who are in our early 60's. What made it a little more difficult than normal is the weather was in the low 100's each day. Made sure you bring plenty of water. We consumed at least 3 liters each day. May weather can be unpredictable. I recommend March or late fall. The total for our hike was ~50 miles due to getting lost a few times. Each day we hiked ~12 miles. We were in a small group so that helped. The Inns that we stayed each night were great (Fauzi Azar, Cana Wedding House, Lavi Hotel and Arbel cabins) and the food served was excellent and will not leave anyone hungry. It was also a great culture experience because 2 of the inns where Arab and 2 were Jewish. We had a guide and still got a little lost a few times, but we saw others on the trail without guides who made it to the end.

A great walk. The best time to be here is late March to Late, April. Like all trails in Israel, the path is clearly marked, red. It start from an olive orchard turned car park, goes down sharply and enters the creek, it climbs the narrow creek. The point where the red path crosses a road, marked black, is the point to turn sharply right and start going back climbing the hill. In March and April, it is all blooming, many kinds of funa all over, butterflies fill the air and 100 years old olive trees decorate the scene.

This is definitely a beautiful place on the Sea of Galilee! I wouldn't say that it is a nature trail. We did walk from the parking area though. It's a historic site and the reason to go would be to visit the site not for hiking. My husband managed to walk down to the water to snap a photo but there wasn't a walkway or area along the water to hike or walk along. I couldn't get a recording on the app without wifi or cell coverage. :/
